About Cobalt and Specialty Materials (CSM)

Mastering the cobalt and nickel value chain. Umicore’s expertise covers the sourcing, production and distribution of cobalt and nickel products. Umicore’s materials are important in everyday items such as rechargeable batteries, tools, paints and tyres. Our recycling and refining processes give new life to cobalt and other metals and reduce environmental impact. To keep meeting our customers’ requirements, we cannot stand still. We need to discover new methods, invent new solutions and develop new ideas.

What you will be doing?

As business IT Manager, you will be responsible for both IT application-related project management and operational support, roll out and implementations. Within project management, you will provide leading operational presence, this to enhance and coordinate business input, requirements and implementations in a smooth, compliant and successful manner. The main focus will be on the operational and financial applications used in CSM Olen. In some cases, the function will work across Business Lines and Business Units as the main ERP system (SAP) is shared and as some IT initiatives span the entire Umicore network.

Key focus of you will be situated in the following areas:

• Act as key contact for Business IT-related issues within CSM Olen. Provide support to the business in solving problems in the various IT systems.
• Act as key coordinator between business and IT for the roll-out of SAP4Hana and possible future SAP enhancements. Collecting and analysing business requirements, mapping them with the system templates and coordinating the implementation together with the corporate IT team.
• BIT project leader for the roll-out of SharePoint Online.
• Overseeing and managing Operations and Process flows in general. Support the business, by providing adequate tools and reports, to convert existing data into information to help them direct or control their daily activities.
• Oversee and manage the support of strategic projects
• Coaching the local team

As BIT manager you will guide CSM Olen through the various strategic projects and subsequent digitalisation phases, not only from an organisational perspective but also from the perspective of the local BIT team. You will create a team that will support the CSM Olen organisation and help in a smooth implementation and digitalisation maturity level by providing the necessary support and leading the various IT-related projects.

Who we are looking for

• Master’s degree in information technology, finance, applied computer science or a related field
• 5 years of professional experience as a BIT manager
• Experience with SAP (FI/CO, SD...)
• Clear knowledge of business processes and their translation into a system
• Good understanding of financial, commercial and operational flows and interactions between different entities and teams
• Fluent in English
• Experience with blueprinting, development of business requirements, testing and realisation of configuration templates is a plus
• Project and change management skills
