Summary

Who May Apply? US Citizens currently residing within the commuting area of Chievres Air Base, Belgium (not ordinarily resident in Belgium). US resident alien family members of US sponsors who are citizens of NATO countries other than Belgium and possess a valid green card and US Social Security Number (SSN).


This position is located at the USAG Benelux, DFMWR, Java Cafe-Bene Brew, Chievres Air Base, Belgium.


Responsibilities

Manages the Java Cafe-Benebrew located at Chievres Airbase, Belgium.

  • Develops, recommends and enforces operating procedures.
  • Acts as a representative of the activity to the community.
  • Conducts customer surveys, reviews usage and sales to make recommendations concerning services, promotion activities and revenue improvements.
  • Supervises assigned staff.
  • Evaluates financial statements, reviewing costs against revenues, advising supervisor of status and recommending improvements in merchandise lines and marketing,.

    • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
    • A probation period of one year may be required.
    • Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
    • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
    • In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area routinely wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties.
    • Incumbent must obtain Serv Safe Manager’s Certificate within 3 months of employment.

    Qualifications

    Possess one (1) year of specialized work experience managing a restaurant or cafe, which included but not limited to duties such as business costing and projection, supervision of employees, and creation of operating procedures (Demonstrated work experience must have been equivalent in complexity to the NF-03 level).
    OR
    Completion of four (4) years of education above high school level directly related to the duties to be performed (e.g. Business Management).

    Applicant must demonstrate the Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) listed below:
    • Ability to effectively deal with subordinates, supervisory and management
    officials, and patrons
    • Ability to coordinate organization’s financial and budget activities to fund
    operations, maximize investments, or increase efficiency.
    • Train new staff members on facility operations, requirements and procedures.
    • Schedule employees to ensure facility is adequately staffed.
    • Monitor and evaluate staff performance to make improvements or take
    corrective action.
    • Resolve customer complaints regarding programs and service
