Carbon Capture Storage Project Manager

Salary: €8,000 - €10,000 per month + Bonus’ + Company Car
We are seeking a Carbon Capture Storage Project Manager to oversee a large-scale Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) project. This pivotal role involves managing project development and implementation at our client’s plant in Belgium. You will ensure the project is technically sound, economically feasible, and risk-balanced, guiding it from the initial phases through to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the CCS project, ensuring safety, budget adherence, and timeline management.
- Manage the Grant Agreement from the EU Innovation Fund, completing required milestones on time.
- Prepare documentation for internal project approvals and coordinate with partners across the Carbon Value Chain.
- Collaborate with contractors for new asset implementation and ensure performance testing by 2028.
- Facilitate negotiations with Carbon Value Chain partners to minimize risks.
- Provide reporting on project costs and progress, ensuring compliance with safety and corporate standards.
- Build relationships with local and global business partners in decarbonization efforts.
What you will be doing:
- Identify tasks, timelines, and skills needed for the project, and create a clear plan to meet deadlines.
- Take part in negotiations with Carbon Value Chain partners, collaborating with Group experts to meet goals while reducing risks.
- Help the operational team understand their contracts and guide them in their responsibilities.
- Oversee the project to ensure it stays within budget and meets timelines, while ensuring quality and safety, and coordinating with all contractors.
- Make sure all parts of the CCS project are implemented effectively, following company processes for design, purchasing, and safety.
- Provide necessary cost and progress updates for the CCS project.
- Assist in preparing for permits and authorisations by attending stakeholder meetings.
- Join internal and external meetings about CCS, contributing to the project and building relationships with local and global partners focused on decarbonization.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Higher technical education in engineering (mechanical or electrical preferred).
- Proven experience in managing large, multi-million equipment and industrial projects.
- Strong focus on timelines and costs, demonstrated through successful project management.
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams.
- Experience in negotiating commercial contracts with significant budgets.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Fluent in English (B2/C1 level); knowledge of French is a plus.
