The Business Processes and Systems Manager is responsible for leading the development, improvement and maintenance of the core business processes and systems used in External Manufacturing. This role underpins the activities of the Performance and Operational Service team within the External Manufacturing Group. The role is responsible for ensuring the systems and processes are optimized, creating collaboration and synergy across External Manufacturing (EM).

The role is responsible for ensuring the system functionality is continuously evaluated (through Voice of Customer), improved to effectively meet the delivery of current business requirements and aligned to EM Digital Strategy.

The role also has accountability for ensuring the system management and changes are in compliance with GSK IT policy. The role must ensure that the system’s guidelines and functionalities are understood by all External Manufacturing and associated PQTS+ teams, working in collaboration with the EM Capability team.

The role must work with Tech, Finance, Supply Chain Services, Global Processes Owners to ensure correct alignment between External Manufacturing, CMO and E2E GSK network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing the External Contractors related to process and system development.
  • Review existing core processes to ensure compliance, efficiency and effectiveness aligned to overall strategy and IPTc objectives
  • Lead cross functional teams including the EM PQTS+ and global process to successfully deliver key projects
  • Represent External Manufacturing to provide strategic input to both EM and global projects
  • Identify opportunities and present proposals to External Manufacturing Leadership Team and Tech for system improvement to ensure the capability of the system matches the current business needs whilst maintaining the simplification of use of system.
  • Lead the overall system improvement and change management process to ensure smooth transition to new ways of working.
  • Stakeholder management and influencing of critical customer interfaces including interaction between Global Processes, External Manufacturing and GSC to create E2E Supply Chain, Product alignment
  • Supports the Business Processes and Systems Director in team development including formulation of team values, critical success factors and team expectations.
  • Deliver reports to key stakeholders on GSK/EM initiatives
  • Stakeholder mapping – identification of key interfaces between EM and the organisation
  • Design and implement key organizational process improvement activities using ADP, GPS and RCA to facilitate standardization, performance measurement and External Manufacturing processes
  • Anticipate and see future needs and to either build these into current thinking and ways of working or prepare for future changes in a controlled fashion

  • Basic understanding of tech process such as programming, data mapping and analytics
  • SME level of understanding in at least one global process and basic level in all others.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Process management and compliance experience gained in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or FMCG Environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal stakeholders at management level.
  • Strong knowledge of GSK Business Processes
  • Formal training or experience in using Microsoft power applications to create business tools
