MISSION

As Communications Officer your responsibility consists of deploying the merely digital (marketing) communication activities of Solina’s Future Food division, represented by the brand NEXTERA by Solina.

To ensure a successful output, you will closely collaborate with internal marketing, communication and digital experts, and stakeholders of other internal departments, as well with external partners, press, associations, and other industry actors.

You will contribute to business growth in our main channels (food industry, foodservice and butchery markets), spread across different regions and countries globally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic

  • You participate to the definition of the annual communication strategy and tactical plan in correspondence with the overall business plan, driven by two major objectives: demand generation/content marketing (focusing on long-term, sustainable brand building and awareness) and lead generation/performance marketing (focusing on short-term sales activation and conversion).
  • You translate the strategy into advanced content and performance marketing tactics which will bring versatile and the most relevant messaging to the defined targets and audiences.
  • As part of the communication strategy, you define the most optimal ecosystem online/offline. You make sure the selected online/offline tools contribute to the business goals by reaching specific KPIs on both content marketing (brand building) and performance marketing (sales activation).
  • You immerse yourself in the world of plant-based food, meat and fish alternatives in particular.
  • From a communication point of view, you track evolutions in the market, benchmark competition and monitor target customers online/offline to detect new opportunities to use and apply this in your communications output.
  • You are the driving force in further establishing recognition and familiarity. Therefore, you build strong relations with various global and local press and media associations and prominent industry actors.
  • You are well connected to the Marketing teams of other Solina regions to find synergies and join forces.
  • You work closely together with Category & Product Manager Future Food to translate product and application innovations, market and consumer insights into proper storytelling and messaging.
  • You align frequently with the Group Communications Manager to inform ongoing projects, general progress and best practices throughout the deployment of the communication plan. As well you frequently interact with the Group Sustainability Manager to embed the proper sustainability angles throughout communication outputs.

Operational

  • You are responsible for the deployment of the marketing and communication plan. Therefore, you contribute to the conception of commercial and/or promotional assets, both online and offline including deliverables such as (digital) newsletters, blog articles, sales support assets such as brochures, flyers, presentations, catalogues, advertisements, slideshows etc. with the support of the Specialists.
  • You possess knowledge and skills in the operational execution of the actions defined. Therefore, you are a real multitasker mastering different tools and software:
  • You are skilled in graphic design (Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop…) and desktop publishing to create attractive and on-brand communication materials (catalogues, leaflets, presentations, advertisements, slideshows etc.).
  • You have experience with digital marketing (social media marketing, email marketing, search engine marketing…) enabling you to compile content calendars, manage social media platforms, draft and design email campaigns, write website blogs and stories.
  • You have affinity with digital tools such as Google Analytics, Data Studio, Tag Manager, Optimize, Ads, Mailchimp, website CMS (WordPress, Drupal…). Experience with CRM Marketing is a plus.
  • You are responsible for preparing and organizing customer events and tradeshows: booth construction, product presentation, commercial supports and all corresponding follow up.

PROFILE

  • By preference a Bachelor in Marketing, Communication or equivalent by experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a B2B, B2C or Foodservice marketing environment.
  • Affinity and experience with food business in general.
  • knowledge of following software: Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop…) / CMS and custom back-office systems (Wordpress) / CRM Sales & CRM Marketing (SalesCloud, Hubspot…) / MS 365 tools (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint…).
  • Strong teamplayer
  • Creative mind, in-depth knowledge of communication, business-oriented and result-driven.
  • Strong and proactive communicator. Ability to act, convince and perform in a cross functional team in multi-cultural environments, in matrix organizational structure.
  • Flexible and reactive, able to multitask, set priorities and to work in a fast-paced, start-up like, environment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, able to perform on a strategic and operational level.
  • Eager to learn and hands-on.
  • Fluency in English, other languages are a plus.
  • Preferentially located in Ghent area, as the veggie hub is located in Eke. Options are Kortrijk area, Eupen area, or in Paris region.
  • Travelling is essential for your job (max 20% of the time).
