Description

FUNCTION:

  • Prepares with the participation of the Project Manager and the Construction Manager:
    • Market research of potential contractors based on the company’s experience, client’s experience and audits at contractor’s facilities.
    • An overall contracting plan defining:
      • Contracting plan/philosophy for each discipline;
      • Type, size and number of contracts;
      • Contract schedules;
      • Responsibility for the supply of materials (company or contractors);
      • Specific details for each contract.
    • Value estimation of the contract.
  • Develops, in coordination with the Project Manager and Construction Manager the bidders list of qualified contractors.
  • Establishes, within the company’s standard framework, basic contract format as well as pre-award and post-award contract procedures for the project and reviews same with the Project Manager and Construction Manager.
  • Assists with pre-award contracting (such as preparing ITB, going to the market, evaluating pricing, drafting contracts).
  • Prepares and reviews Inquiry Packages (Construction Contract SoW Description, Scoping Sheets, Unit Rate Descriptions, and related Inquiry drawings and specifications) before issue to market: for all contract trades, from the contractor’s perspective: clarity, completeness, consistency, with focus on "who does what", responsibilities, grey areas.
  • Assists with post-award contracting (such as administrating the contracts awarded, managing the contractors from a commercial perspective, managing of changes, etc.).
  • Primarily accountable for final selection of the right contractor for each bid package in agreement with the Project Manager and the Construction Manager.
  • Responsible on the field for the supervision of the contractors on all contractual and financial matters.
  • Responsible for the claims management i.e. handling of all claims with the contractors such as extra work orders, back-charges and overall claims.

PROFILE:

  • 5+ years of experience in contracting, preferably in (petro)-chemical industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of English, preferably good knowledge of Dutch.
