[ DATA ANALYST – Tribe Digital & Customer Interactions – Brussels ]

Your role & work environment

As a Data Analyst at ING you will play a crucial role in the data-driven culture by supporting our products and services Tribes. You will be responsible to support the decision making process by delivering valuable insights to both your colleagues and our clients.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of 8 to 9 professionals in Business Banking, within a team focusing on Business Lending and Business Insurance products. Portfolio and new production monitoring, product promotion and sales support are key activities amongst this team.

Your Key Responsibilities

Translating the business needs into an analytical request:
  • Hereby you will be discussing and challenging the needs and requirements with your stakeholders.
  • While thinking along you already think a step further in terms of a feasibility analysis, setting realistic timelines, and cross-checking the data needs and availabilities.
Go over to the execution phase, this by applying some advanced analytical skills, capabilities and techniques, some examples are:
  • Getting to know all the data available for business lending and business insurance
  • Executing in-depth analysis on our customer data base to come up with answers to some specific questions
  • Create some advanced ad-hoc reporting for specific needs, using tools like Cognos and Adobe
  • Creating target groups for outbound customer communication; thinking about the right selection criteria, channels, offers, and A/B tests

As a Data Analyst you will also need to have following qualifications and competences:
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or alike, and/or equivalent experience of 3 years
  • 2 years relevant experience in data analytics
  • Experience in business banking is an asset
  • Experience in SQL is a must
  • Experience with tools such as SAS, Cognos or Adobe are a plus
  • Be a team player
  • Be analytical: extremely curious, constantly looking for an explanation; analyzing sharply, concise & to the point
  • Take ownership on tasks assigned: you will be cultivating analytics within the bank
  • Be able to influence and convince not only peers but also the stakeholders based on analytical results
  • Good knowledge of English
