ARHS Digital is looking for a Data Engineer to help developing and rolling out a structure wide BI and Data strategy for one of its clients.

The project requires experience beyond data warehousing & BI, to include even database configuration, streaming & batch data flows design, testing framework, schema evolution of model, security and regulatory obligations. Knowledge about modern data warehousing is beneficial as-well-as having a system approach to modelling information. Agile project management skills are also useful considering the complexity of the project.

The following technologies are being utilised on the project: Scala, Java, Kafka, Flink, Hadoop, Spark & Hive

Experience & Expertise

• Building frameworks and generic components on a datahub
• Dimensional and Data vault modelling
• PowerDesigner Enterprise Architecture (or equivalent)
• Data profiling experience
• Knowledge of DWH and its lifecycle (requirements, design, implementation, testing, ETL design)
• Familiar with banking environment and related products
• Knowledge in PostgreSQL and/or Oracle

Knowledge of the following would be desirable

• Hands-on with Agile development (Scrum) principles & methodologies
• Business process modelling, UML, design patterns
• Bitemporality, and object-oriented modelling
• ETL development experience
• Stored-procedure programming and/or java
• System-thinking
• Knowledge about data streaming

Your Profile

• University degree in information technology or engineering, or equivalent by experience
• Good oral and written communication skills in English. French or Dutch knowledge is a plus
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Autonomous, quick self-starter & pro-active attitude
• Team player, always ready to share, train or provide support to others
• Commitment and perseverance also on documentation
• Ability to work in a complex, dynamic and multicultural environment
• Capability to deliver results respecting deadlines
• Quality driven and cost avoidance minded
• Able to handle changing priorities
• Customer focused
• Passionate about data
• Experience in giving trainings is an asset
