Job DescriptionAs a Data Analyst, you will work in the Data Analytics unit of the Asset & System Data team, responsible for data management, maintenance and development of the reference systems needed to operate the Belgian high-voltage grid. Your most important task will be to use analytical techniques to extract information from the vast amount of data that will have a positive impact on the business to support decision-making processes.From the "Data Analytics" unit, we provide analysis services to other Elia departments, such as Asset Management. For them, we carry out analyses on assets located in our reference systems (Survival analysis, Geospatial analysis, etc.).On the other hand, we also provide analyses on data coming from the field in real time (Report on modulated volumes in the context of flexibility (GFLEX), Analysis of flow history by equipment unit and of the evolution of this flow over time, analysis of events (incidents, overloads, diagnostics...), etc.Analysis can be descriptive, diagnostic, predictive or prescriptive.Your Profile
  • You have a Master’s degree in (engineering) sciences (preferably in energy/automation/...), or you can demonstrate enthusiasm or equivalent experience.
  • You want to continuously learn and develop yourself. Elia offers online training courses so that you can stay abreast of current technological developments, project implementation, etc.
  • You have an analytical and logical mind. Your reasoning and conclusions are based on mathematics/statistics.
  • You are results-oriented, work independently and are well organized.
  • You have strong communication skills to speak with clients or other stakeholders on any level.
  • You are a team player and take initiative.
  • You are customer-oriented and flexible.
  • You have solid experience with Python and SQL. Experience with Spark (Azure/Databricks), OPP or TensorFlow Framework is a plus.
  • You are familiar with standard data presentation techniques (Power BI is a plus).
  • Knowledge of Elia and the energy sector is a plus.
  • You speak English well and either Dutch or French.
