Deliver Trade Compliance Lead Primary Location: Belgium Other possible locations: Zug, Switzerland or Ireland The DELIVER organization strives to deliver an exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer-facing functions such as distribution, customer service, logistics, and transportation across the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies. DELIVER supports all Johnson & Johnson Segments: Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, Vision and Consumer Products, and DELIVER EMEA manages a complex network of Distribution centers (DCs) and Customer Service centers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa supporting multiple distribution channels to J&J’s broad range of customers. Since 2013, DELIVER has undertaken a complete review of its network and consolidated its footprint while driving best-in-class distribution operations and leveraging a third-party logistics sourcing base. TW: suggest making this language more E2E, such as (pls revise), “The trade compliance function supports End to End compliance across Johnson & Johnson’s legal entities engaged in cross border activities in the Pharma, Medical Device and Consumer space.” As the Deliver, Trade Compliance Lead, you will develop relevant standards and processes, and leverage best practices to increase compliance, efficiency, capability build-up, and standardize Trade Compliance. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Lead the implementation and governance of strategic initiatives and projects related to Trade Compliance within EMEA in conjunction with the global team, operational trade compliance teams, external service providers and other stakeholders. • Drive EMEA-specific deployment of processes, data and technology to mature the trade compliance program as part of the Global Trade Operating Model. • Provide expert insights for both compliance and duty optimization purposes to JnJ legal entities engaged in cross border activities; activities may include network design, Free Trade Agreement reviews, and general trade flow advice on classification, country of origin or valuation. • Proactively identify and communicate EMEA import and export regulatory changes that could affect JnJ cross border trade flows. • Build exceptional partnership and relationship across affiliate/regional/global teams to scout business opportunities and translate them into solutions. • Oversee EMEA remediation efforts and associated KPIs/reporting. • Serve as escalation point for import and export compliance issues affecting cross border operations. • Identify EMEA capability gaps associated with compliance, efficiency and duty optimization and proactively work to address. • Continuously improve EMEA trade compliance program through, among other things, thought leadership and building capabilities to meet emerging industry needs. • Provide strategic and process support to local Trade Compliance Operational teams. • Manage a team across multiple countries to deliver standardized compliance solutions across EMEA. Qualifications • University STEM degree (BA or BS) or equivalent, advanced degree preferred (Master, MBA). • Extensive experience in Supply Chain/Trade Compliance roles ideally combined with strong Consulting experience. • Strong leadership experience working in a global function and matrix environment. • Experience managing and communicating internal and/or external audit findings and subsequent remediation. • Fluent in English, additional European languages preferred. • Demonstrated capabilities to keep pace with emerging industry trends/changes, such as through industry association participation or peer groups. • Strong overall expertise in Trade Compliance process and data design and deployment. • Experience with SAP-GTS or other trade compliance technologies strongly preferred. • Ability to promote a vision and drive change to transform organizations via strong engagement/communication. • Build, communicate and drive value cases associated with global projects. • Collaborate and build strong partnerships internally and externally with customer focus. • Ability to manage complexity and changing regulatory environment while guaranteeing highest standards of quality and compliance. Ready to challenge the status quo. • Strong ability to manage remote and multi-cultural resources both directly and indirectly, demonstrate good people skills and be competent in supervising, coaching and motivating people. • Process oriented mindset and able to manage complexity and change.
