Job Description

For one of our clients active in the automotive sector and located in Flanders we are looking for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join their Design and Drafting team with the below expected tasks.

Profile / Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • New Powershift and/or Electric Transmission 3D design:
  • support and deliver concept studies in Creo
  • Release new 3D/2D drawings for prototype build including DFM/DFA principles
  • Current Portfolio:
  • Maintain current portfolio by implementing required changes due to cost, machining, assembly or customer needs
  • Support in improving margin by proposing cost reduction improvements understanding and quantifying the risk and the connected cost of the implementation.
  • Test rig design:
  • In collaboration with test lab and engineering: develop new or improve existing rigs to test full transmissions or components

Qualifications And Skills

  • good mechanical knowledge on materials, heat treatments, etc. (alloyed steel, cast iron, etc)
  • good understanding of machining operations (turning, milling, grinding, etc)
  • very good knowledge on dimensional and geometrical tolerancing
  • proven 3D modelling skills (Creo preferred, but not limited)
  • Fluent in English
