We are looking for a new colleague in the Product Development department at our plant facility in Lommel or out of Berchem.

Your tasks as Design Lead Engineer (m/f/d):

  • As Design Lead Engineer you take the technical responsibility to develop with a small team of design engineers new gear unit products, in line with customer requirements, ready for production and assembly
  • The responsibility covers the design, calculation and documentation of the components and systems of the gear unit as well as the planning and output reporting of your team members
  • You are involved in the co-engineering of suppliers and other departments such as process engineering, purchasing, supplier quality and validation engineering
  • You support the project manager in customer communication related to design activities and report to them on technical product maturity

Your profile as Design Lead Engineer (m/f/d):

  • Master in Mechanical engineering or Electro-mechanics and minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design
  • Creativity combined with interest in technical skills, customer orientated and good communication skills
  • You are analytically strong in problem solving and you will face a problem as a challenge to expand your know-how in designing gearboxes for the next generation of wind turbines
  • You have a good knowledge of English. Dutch and/or German are an asset
  • Experience with a 3D CAD software is a must, experience with PTC Creo and/or Windchill is an asset
