RESPONSIBILITIES

The purpose of this role is to design and manage the Dev Ops activities of the global R&D Informatics platform. As Dev Ops Architect, you are one of the principal architects that will drive innovation and contribute to the R&D Informatics strategy. You will manage a team of IT infrastructure experts but will also actively contribute to the platform as you have a hands-on mentality.

What you can expect

You are responsible for the design and implementation of R&D Informatics platform systems in line with the business strategy and contribute to the overall aligned view across the global Seeds R&D organization.
You develop and ensure implementation of sustainable and competitive IS technologies.
Furthermore, you develop and coordinate R&D Informatics infrastructure projects, including critical milestones.
Forecasting financial resource requirements for the R&D Informatics platform in line with short, mid and long-term strategy is one of your responsibilities.
You annually review resource demands and allocate 3rd party resources correctly to projects.
Additionally, you ensure the compliance with all existing safety and security standards in the area of responsibility considering law, regulations and directives and evaluate potential risks of the platform activities.
In your role as Dev Ops Architect, you will establish and maintain productive and efficient inter-departmental relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS

You have a master’s degree in information technology preferably or equivalent with 10 years of relevant experience in Life Sciences industry.
You have at least 5 years of experience as team leader within an (R&D) IT function preferably within Life Sciences industry.
You have demonstrated experience in managing complex R&D focused IT infrastructure comprising.
This experience is not limited to High Performance Computing, large SQL and NO-SQL database architectures, high performance (data) networks and multi-tier web application platforms.
You have experience with inhouse managed datacenters, with cloud services of e.g. AWS and Azure as well as expertise with Linux and Windows server.
You have in-depth knowledge and proven experience with infrastructure automation and "DevOps" technologies like CI/CD platforms (Atlassian), Puppet Enterprise, Terraform, Satellite, Kubernetes etc.
You have experience with IT project management including methodologies like Agile/Scrum and DevOps.
You have a can-do attitude and will actively contribute to platform operations, assisting in complex operations and problem analysis, guarding a good balance between security, performance and stability.
You have a proven ability to lead and implement a strong and collaborative team culture across geographic locations.
You have a strong customer focus.
