Diagnostic Manager will have responsibility for leading & executing Janssen’s local commercial diagnostics strategy in collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders of the regional & local oncology organization

The successful candidate should have extensive pharma & diagnostic commercial experience, so as oncology experience, Role requires strong leadership with excellent communication & collaboration skills, to translate efficiently the commercial Diagnostic strategy into execution for our oncology portfolio & pipeline

Primary responsibilities for this leadership position will include but not limited to:

  • Lead & implement the local Commercial Diagnostic strategy, in line with Regional team, for all tumours/various diagnostic assets

  • Provide commercial diagnostics expertise & guidance for oncology CVTs, with a strong focus on launch readiness preparation regarding testing

  • Ensure timely guidance to senior management regarding diagnostic strategy & its impact on targeted therapies strategies

  • Build in collaboration with CVTs current & future competitive advantage by understanding & addressing key customers’ needs, & by demonstrating deep understanding of competitors’ commercial strategies

  • Lead commercial evaluation of local diagnostics platforms, actively seek effective partnerships with government partners, public/private labs, & industries to support our commercial diagnostic strategy

  • Develop & Co-Create with EMEA Diagnostic Teams, collaborative plans for successful launches of Diagnostic programs at local level, ensuring seamless access to testing for patients that supports the applicable brand strategies

  • Ensure ring trials deployment (quality assessment)

  • Educate CVT & relevant operating teams, so as OpCo senior leaders on the Testing/Diagnostic market & business dynamics

  • Deploy & monitor testing KPI based on regional guidance

  • Shape internal environment to continue reinforcing/developing internal capabilities required for long-term success in precision medicine

  • Balance business priorities & resources, adapting to the external & internal environment.

  • Coordinate with Medical Teams & KAM (where appropriate) local operating activities with key centers/labs & HCPs

  • Closely collaborates with Medical team on testing publication plan

  • Own budget for all Diagnostic & Precision Medicine initiatives sitting in CVTs

  • Manage consultants/agencies for key projects

  • Develop internal & external customer relationships that successfully drive business objectives.

  • Establish a productive work environment by creating trust & respect within all Oncology TAs



Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Advanced business &/or life sciences degree preferred
  • Consideration will also be made for individuals with MD (Medical Oncologist and / or hematologist) a PharmD or PhD
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/diagnostic industry in progressive commercial leadership roles is required (minimum of 3 years of experience in diagnostic preferred)
  • Proven track record of working within highly matrixed environments & cross functional teams, at local & regional/global levels is preferred
  • Experience in diagnostics commercialization required; experience with companion diagnostics commercialization preferred.
  • Marketing experience in Oncology preferred
  • Ability to work in strong matrix environment & leading by influence required
  • Demonstrated ability to influence & manage a complex set of internal & external stakeholders
  • Strong executive presence & leadership skills are required
  • Strong communication & negotiating skills required
  • Strong analytical skills to understand scientific & financial data, recognize key issues & establish business priorities

  • Prior experience working with external agencies & vendors is required

  • Previous experience working in cross-functional teams is preferred
