The digitalization on the Employee front is essential to make Solvay a great place to work and is a key pillar of our Digital Strategy. Thanks to digital, we want to simplify and improve our colleagues day-to-day enabling them to focus on their core job, to enable them to develop themselves and grow and to connect them to collaborate inside/outside at anytime and anywhere.

The Digital Employee Journey domain encompasses currently several product groups (Talent Management, Employee support, Collaboration & Communication management, Facilities Management, Plant worker Journey, Research worker journey) that will evolve over time.

The Digital Process Specialist is part of the Digital Technology organization and reports to the Head of the Digital Employee Journey. She/he is responsible for connecting business processes and digital design to support the Digital Employee Journey product domain. She/He looks at end-to-end value delivery considering business needs and facts to steer the digital design.

The Digital Process Specialist serves as a liaison between business, functions and product teams to understand the opportunities and pain points related to business capabilities and value chains and creates the visibility needed to inform the product strategy.

She/he is able to document and analyse the AS IS and uses analytical skills to spot opportunities to define the TO BE in collaboration with the Digital team and Business.

She/he can advise on a standard product group further adoption or changes or the end-to-end integration of several product groups with process insights.
The Digital Process Specialist can also identify solution requirements that do not lead to an existing product group and work with Innovation specialists, Enterprise Architecture, Portfolio Management Specialists and Product Managers to define the way forward to satisfy the business need(s).

Key Outputs
  • Business scenarios & use cases -Design (iteratively) business scenarios and use cases for the product mix. Including product introduction, specification and the change management required to maximize its adoption / value
  • Product impact assessment -Determine how ideas for new solutions, expansions or evolutions (product mix) will impact value recipients, business ecosystem, existing business processes and ways of working, organization as well as EA and product portfolio

  • Idea, concepts, story telling, wire frame iterative test validation -Ensure taste-testing by product owners is conducted properly to ensure that the Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) defined really provide the desired value

  • Strategic consultancy -Provide strategic consultation to assigned product value recipients in defining or designing business capabilities, processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing, selling and enabling technologies based on business and end-user requirements


Key Stakeholder Interactions

  • Work with Enterprise Architecture, Digital Champions, Business representatives (Business process analysts), Portfolio Management Specialists, Product Managers, Tech leads to define the way forward to satisfy the employee and business needs
  • Collaborate with Product Teams in particular DevOps to move from visioning to prototypes to foster decision making

Education and Experience

  • Experience in process mapping and ideally journey mapping (Employee experience focus a add on)
  • Experience in data analytics to translate into actionable insights
  • Experience in lean six sigma methodology
