Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.  

It is anticipated that, following the conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes. 

Role & Responsibilities

• This role drives the strategy for Global Trade Compliance Operations and leads a global team to execute import and export operations for a multibillion-dollar global trade program to over 30 countries across North America, Europe, the Middle East/Africa, Latin America, and Asia- Pacific regions
• Flawless execution of cross-border operations by local teams and third-party providers in accordance with the global trade compliance program
• Manage and continuously improve operational data, process, and digitalization strategies to keep pace with regulatory changes and new business models and collaborate with cross-functional counterparts to ensure End to End(“E2E”) orchestration of efficient and effective cross-border flows
• Collaborate closely with Global Trade Advisory counterparts to understand compliance requirements for E2E execution
• Oversee trade compliance operations processes, spanning over 30 countries including, among others, broker management, recordkeeping, permits/licenses/registrations, cross-border data and documentation, border issue hold resolution, and special trade programs
• Ensure consistent E2E implementation of cross-border operational data and technology strategies, both internally and with third-party providers, to optimize efficient and compliant trade flows
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiency through local adoption and application of global best practices, KPIs, metrics and operational strategies
• Oversee and identify emerging operational risk areas by ensuring regional and local trade operation teams, implement remediation actions and respond to cross-border agency inquiries/requests with an E2E view
• Implement and continually improve the execution of training programs across regional teams to meet internal and government requirements
• Manage performance and development plans, additionally providing coaching and feedback
• Foster an environment of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by creating opportunities to include diverse perspectives in decisions and solutions
• Attract and retain diverse talent and promote continuous learning
• Collaborate with business partners across geographic regions to implement duty savings programs, including free trade agreements, foreign trade zones, and duty drawback programs
• Ensure appropriate cross-functional relationships and structures exist to monitor, measure and operationalize regulatory changes affecting cross-border operations without disrupting trade
• Oversee and provide guidance to customs clearance agents and trade compliance service providers; partner to reduce cost and improve clearance performance
• Manage strategy, budget, scope of work, and performance
  
  

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in International Supply Chain, Transportation, Trade Compliance, or experience in a highly regulated industry
• University/Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent. An advanced degree with global trade certification preferred
• Experience in the application of trade and customs regulations to a global enterprise
• Experience Leading Global teams across business functions and regions
