Director Product Development

Overview

The Director, Product Development and Innovation is responsible for ensuring that the Donations Platform remains a key differentiating asset for Mastercard in terms of its ESG goals by keeping its value proposition unique and ensuring that by combining strong technology controls and market driven design thought processes that Mastercard stays ahead of the curve in relation to its competitors in this space. The position will also be responsible for validating and ensuring product sustainability. It will be necessary to partner with all impacted teams to ensure robust controls and supporting material is in place to ensure the global scalability of an already strong product. This role will therefore have both a technical and sales focus the latter to both internal and external stakeholders.

Role

As part of the Cause Enablement Team within Strategic Growth you will be responsible for:

• Taking input from the wider team on PI prioritization for specific products within the Donation Platform suite of products and coordinating the delivery of these directly with O&T.
• Detailing of Business Requirements and specifications to ensure correct interpretation, implementation and delivery
• Validating requirements for new Donations Platform features and working through these with impacted stakeholders
• Taking ownership of the end-to-end delivery of any new assigned product feature component and being capable of navigating through risks and dependencies with all stakeholders to ensure flawless delivery
• Reviewing and contributing to any documentation related to these products including design documents and technical specifications.
• Ownership and ongoing validation, coordination and maintenance of documentation related to these products e.g. on The Developer Zone
• Ensuring that Business objectives and the product roadmap are closely followed during the functional and technical workshops with O&T as well as post these meetings
• Working with teams across Mastercard to collectively work through the design and delivery of prioritized features as the platform evolves
• Contribute to all program management and status meetings
• Overseeing User Acceptance Testing and formally accept the deliverables for your products
• Contributing to the packaging required to ensure cohesion with the Studio principles in each region
• Working with stakeholders at a global level to understand and incorporate local requirements into a global framework
• Contribute towards sales calls by being able to address and articulate all technical requirements for integration
• Idea generation and concept validation of new services/platform enhancements
• Owning delivery of assigned implementation projects in any of Mastercard’s global regions
• Supporting other team members with technical questions
• Partnering with internal stakeholders to drive customer engagement with account and functional teams
• Driving new business opportunities with Mastercard business partners (traditional banks, virtual banks, financial services, merchants, etc …) by addressing customer needs and leveraging the product as a differentiating solution that will ultimately drive long term business
  
  

All About You

• Extensive experience in e-commerce, Mobile and Online payments
• Knowledge of Mastercard’s payment system infrastructure and business model
• Extensive experience in working with (preferably defining and integrating) E-Commerce APIs
• Ability to work across functions, Product strategy, standards, regulations, and technical delivery, collaborate, negotiate and influence across these areas
• Track record of business development and working in new technologies
• Strong Ability to influence and sell
• Strong team player with strong communication, story-telling and presentation skills
• Good at coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
• Creative, high learning agility, can pick up skills and knowledge quickly and thoroughly
• Skilled at management reporting and gathering insights from granular data in order to influence decision making
