Function

As a Dispatcher at Elia, you will be responsible for coordinating switching and for keeping operational documents up to date. You will ensure that switching is carried out safely, that installations are adjusted correctly and that the grid voltage quality is always guaranteed. You will monitor the grid, handle incidents and communicate about them with everyone concerned.

At Elia, we invest in your development. You will have several months of intense training to ensure you attain all the competencies you need. Initially, you will prepare switching and work with others on operational documentation. You will then be given the opportunity to independently lead switching. We will provide training tailored towards your specific experience, so that you can attain the qualifications necessary to manage the high-voltage grid.

Your Profile

Your profile as Dispatcher

  • A qualification in a relevant technical subject (electricity or electromechanics, etc.) or equivalent experience;
  • Experience with grid switching officers would be an advantage but is not a requirement;
  • A basic knowledge of power grids, protection systems and alarms;
  • A knowledge of electric installations (high voltage and medium voltage, etc.);
  • Good communication skills and the ability to cope with stress;
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Inquisitive and willing to develop further.
