PolyPeptide Laboratories is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the development, manufacture and sale of therapeutically active peptides. PolyPeptide SA, Belgium, with approximately 320 employees is part of the international PolyPeptide Group with companies in Sweden, India, USA, France and Belgium.

To strengthen our EHS Department based in Braine-L’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking for one talent : EHS Management System & Security Manager

Scope :

• Develop & maintain the EHS management system of the Braine-l’Alleud et Strasbourg site. Ensure the suitability of EHS management system with ISO14001 & IS45001 sandard.
• Implement and review processes for monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation of site EHS performance to determine the effectiveness of the site EHS management system, including the identification of suitable indicators. Assure the reporting of EHS information to Global EHS and ensure this information is reliable.
• Develop a strategy to promote continuous EHS performance improvement and drive excellence into the EHS Management System.
• Ensure the certification ISO14001 of Braine-l’Alleud and participate to the certification of Strasbourg site
• According to the Business unit roadmap and group objectives, develop the EHS management system to reach the ISO45001 certification.
• Organize and lead the EHS council of our sites (Braine-l’Alleud & Strasbourg)
• Coordinate sustainability project on both site according to the Global EHS directives such as CO2 footprint assessment of the Business unit/ Solvant recycling …
• Coordinate waste management on site and identify opportunities to decrease the environmental impact of the company
• Ensure the legal reporting to authorities regarding environmental matters (REGINE/ PISOE…) and SEVESO regulation
• Realize a continuous review of EHS regulation and communicate updates to management to ensure conformity of the site
• Ensure the annual Ecovadis assessment and implement a continuous improvement action plan to increase the scorecard of the Business unit by working closely with other stakeholders departments such as Human resources & Supply
• Ensure management of the outsourced security personnel - Coordinate & maintain control access of the site
• Organization & team management:
• Salary review in collaboration with his superior
• Deployment of planning in departments
• Approval of leaves
• Budget in collaboration with his superior
• Managing and reviewing the job descriptions of his employees
• To maintain familiarity with all relevant EHS legislation, assess and contribute to relevant consultative documents. Ensure necessary permits and licences to operate obtained in a timely manner to achieve business goals.

Profile:

• Master in industrial sciences, or equivalent
• At least five years’ experience as a EHS Professional in a technical process environment preferably in the Pharmaceutical/chemical field.
• Experiences with:
• ISO 45001/ ISO14001 site certification / ECOVADIS Assessment
• REACH regulation/ ADR/ French & Belgium EHS regulation
• Security management
• Fluent in English

Specific skills :

• Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels with a ‘user friendly’ and flexible approach.
• Collaborative approach to resolving issues with other departments
• Track record of implementation of EHS policy across company / site
• Ability to intuitively ’read’ situations analyze problems effectively and react appropriately when dealing with a broad range of risk scenarios.
• Strong influencing skills with an ability to lead the development of EHS programs on site.
