For the expansion of our Finance team, argenx is looking for an EMEA Accounting Lead. This role will report to the Director of Accounting.

Your Primary Areas Of Focus Are

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute accounting processes and operations, follow up on business projects and revenue recognition in accordance with local and corporate policies
  • Prepare timely & accurately the monthly, quarterly, half-year and year-end accounting closing process and reports
  • Work in close relationship with Group Internal Control and External/Corporate Auditors in order to review, update and document business processes and accounting and financial policies in line with relevant framework to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Define and execute effective and documented SOX controls
  • Manage and comply with local government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Manage local payment processing and collections
  • Lead the design and implementation of the order-to-cash process in the EMEA in conjunction with the distribution flow, supply chain and inventory management processes
  • In partnership with Group Finance, lead the implementation of revenue recognition policies and close processes in EMEA
  • Being a SPOC/key contact for the EMEA (finance) team with continuous focus on E2E process improvements
  • Work closely with IT and other stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of the ERP and other systems for every additional legal entity we create
  • Build all necessary capabilities for EMEA accounting requirements in terms of systems and human resources
  • Assist the EMEA - Head of Finance and the Group Finance team in providing relevant & timely financial information on EMEA activities to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors
  • Coordinate the preparation of the statutory financial statements for all EMEA legal entities in accordance with the relevant accounting principles
  • Support the Business Development and M&A teams, as needed
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are respected
Desired Skills And Experience
  • Advanced degree in Accounting / Economics
  • Minimum of +10 years working experience in accounting
  • Experience in managing multiple legal entities within an EMEA setting is key
  • Experience with tax & transfer pricing in the accounting setting is key
  • Experience within the biotech or pharma industry is a plus
  • Analytical and critical mind, structured and efficient
  • Experience in working with an ERP system, experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus
  • Knowledge of IFRS principles
  • You are a connector, building relationships and partnering across the organization to achieve the company goals
