For the development and construction of our current and future offshore wind farms, we are looking for a Foundation Package Installation Engineer to reinforce ourFoundations Package team.



Your role:

In cooperation with the Project Director, the EPC Project Manager oversees a construction project for a utility-scale offshore wind power plant. They form a team that are ultimately responsible for the successful completion of the offshore windfarm.

The focus of theEPC Project Manager is on the design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, from the early planning to the handing-over to the O&M Department, and on the supply chain side of the project.

The focus of the Project Director is towards external and internal stakeholder management and coordination, project controls, project support and project financing.

Hierarchically within the project’s organisation, the EPC Project Manager reports to the Project Director who, in turn, reports to the project owners’ governance body appointed to oversee the project. The EPC Project Manager may be called upon to provide updates on the technical progress of the project personally to such governance body.

Leading a team of Package Managers, Package Engineersand technical experts
assigned in various degrees to the project, the EPC Project Manager is responsible for the technical and economic feasibility and efficiency of both the EPC process and the resulting asset. He/she will coordinate between the various technical and supporting functions such as the technical disciplines (WTG, ELEC, FND, O&M) and QAQC/HSSE, contracting, finance, project controls etc. and ensure that all interfaces are diligently dealt with.

As all leaders within Parkwind, the EPC Project Manager plays a key role in making sure all activities and operations in which Parkwind is involved are carried out in a safe and socially and environmentally responsible way. Safety and respect for everyone and leading by example are central values.


Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that relevant HSE requirements are satisfied within the activities, whether these requirements are defined by legislation, Parkwind regulations, contract, or project plans.
  • Make, implement, and maintain a milestone plan for the initiation and completion of the project
  • Manage the team of Package Managers (WTG, ELEC, FND) that are in charge of, and ultimately responsible for the safe, timely and cost-efficient design, engineering, construction, commissioning and hand-over of their package
  • Ensure that human resource plan for the project is established and kept up to date by the Package Managers in consultation with their (Discipline)Team Leads and with the other functional Team Leads within Parkwind (QHSSE, contracting…).
  • Establish the overall EPC planning (including the individual packages’ planning) for the project in line with the overall project planning, follow up that planning and take necessary actions if deviations occur.
  • Proactively ensure that project interfaces are under control and properly allocated and managed.
  • Ensure that the necessary recommendations on choices between solutions and suppliers are generated and approved in line with the project’s governance requirements in a timely manner.
  • Take on a proactive role in identifying and controlling risks for the project.
  • Based on the input of the Package Managers, establish the overall CAPEX budget and related contingencies.
  • Ensure that the OPEX budget is established in concert with the O&M Team.
  • Coordinate throughout the development and construction phase the interaction between the budget and the overall finance functions on the project in consultation with the Project Director.
  • Follow-up on the budget until hand-over to O&M.
  • Follow up on, and if necessary, steer the (Front-End) Engineering and Design work and ensure coordination between the contractual Employer Requirements within the various packages.
  • Establish and follow-up on the overall project contracting strategy with due regard for the project owner’s and financing preferences, but also for the market conditions.
  • Follow-up and coordinate the overall procurement process and ensure timely securing of the required contracts.
  • Take on a role of 2nd line negotiator in the various negotiations within the procurement process.
  • In a FIDIC context, take on the role of FIDIC Engineer on the project whereby the Package Managers will be the Engineer’s Assistants for the contracts within their package.
  • Ensure that the supplied and constructed equipment, components, tools, services are carefully and diligently checked to be in compliance with the Employer Requirements and Contract’s specification through focused reviews, inspections, witnessing etc.
  • Ensure that the contracts are managed proactively by the Package Managers and their teams to allow safe, qualitative, timely and within budget delivery of the functioning assets to O&M, thereby maintaining a good and strong relationship with the key contractors and suppliers.
  • Take on a role of 2nd line negotiator in conflicts with contractors or suppliers that are not being resolved at Package Manager level.


Your profile:


  • You obtained a master’s degree in engineering and have a strong technical background
  • You have minimum 5 years of experience in project management for offshore infrastructure projects, preferably in leading the construction of offshore windfarms
  • You have a profound understanding of the commercial aspects of the offshore market
  • You have a strong appetite for working in the international environment of offshore renewablesYou have effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities
  • You have a strong teambuilding attitude
  • You have strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • You have an excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken)
  • You are open to occasionally travel, up to 5 days per month average
