Responsibilities:
The EU Public Affairs Manager will be part of a lean corporate Public Affairs team that supports Group management and Group operations in addressing political/regulatory challenges and opportunities. He/she will focus on the EU region (EU institutions and Member states) and will be responsible to ensure that relevant EU regulatory intelligence can be efficiently integrated in business decision-making processes.

In close cooperation with relevant teams and functions, he/she will address a broad range of issues impacting assets, products and markets, with a focus on topics falling under the umbrella of the EU Green Deal. The position has a strong focus on engagement and networking, both internally and externally, with a view to adequately position the Group on all issues identified as priorities. He/she will work hand-in-hand with the Head of Public Affairs to interact directly with the region’s leadership team and provide continued support to country CEOs and their teams on impacting topics.

In tandem with the Head of Public Affairs, he/she will actively contribute to the development and execution of an actionable advocacy strategy for the European region. Through a strong network, he/she facilitates access to key decision-makers and builds trusting relationships with relevant stakeholders.

  • Development and execution of an EU Public Affairs strategy centered on priority issues;
  • Comprehensive monitoring the relevant EU agenda;
  • Briefing of executives, leadership teams and functions;
  • Animation of a proactive and action-based internal EU public affairs network;
  • Drafting of positions, in cooperation with Group/sectoral experts;
  • Proactive participation to relevant events / conferences / briefings in Brussels;
  • Contribute to managing relations with relevant associations or third-party organizations.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in government relations and public affairs at EU level;
  • Experience in industry and corporate environments is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Deep understanding of the European policy agenda and institutional processes;
  • Excellent knowledge of the EU Green Deal and associated policy agenda;
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory topics into business-relevant action plans;
  • Excellent writing skills (incl. briefings, presentations, position papers, newsletters);
  • High degree of autonomy and initiative.
Language Requirements: English proficiency (spoken and written) is essential. Any other language is a plus. Travel Requirements: 5%
