A fully funded PhD position is available in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Industrial Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio. This opportunity is advertised by Professor Morteza Seidi. The selected candidate will join a dynamic research team dedicated to advancing injury biomechanics, with a particular emphasis on technologies for the prevention of traumatic brain injury. The research will encompass experimental and computational approaches, including impact biomechanics, sensor integration, signal processing, and the development of injury protection systems.
Requirements
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline
– Solid understanding of impact mechanics, structural design, finite element modeling, and materials behavior
– Proficiency in CAD software and finite element analysis tools (experience with LS-DYNA is especially preferred)
– Eligibility limited to domestic applicants, including international students currently residing in the U.S., due to project timelines and visa processing constraints
