Fintech Growth Hunter

The mission of the Innovation Team is to play a transversal role across the business lines to support the growth and strategy of the Euroclear group.

In September 2021, the Innovation Team which was part of the broader Data Services and Innovation division has been incorporated in the Group Strategy and Product Expansion (GSPE) division. The GSPE division is responsible for overall management of products and services at Euroclear Group level. Its main objective is to identify gaps and opportunities to continuously improve Euroclear Group’s products ranges, services offering and related financials, taking into account market evolution.

Why makes this role important and exciting ?

The fintech ecosystem in the capital markets sector is maturing rapidly with funding levels growing at 20% YoY. These fintechs are spread across the value chain (primary market, pre-trade, trade execution and post-trade).

The benefits for Euroclear of identifying pro-actively those fintechs are multiple : detection of early market/technology trend, identification of new potential products/services to be developed by Euroclear and building partnerships with other ecosystem player.

As fintech growth hunter you will play a key role in in identifying early those fintechs, get exposure to new business models and the latest developments in the capital markets.

Role & responsibilities

As a fintech growth hunter, your principal focus will be to identify fintechs relevant for the Euroclear products & services. More specifically, you will :

• Pro-actively scout for fintechs through a combination of desk work and attending conferences / webinars
• Build and maintain relationships with innovation teams with Euroclear ecosystem players (clients / suppliers / regulators / …) and fintech incubators to create market intelligence on fintechs getting traction
• Monitor key announcements in our ecosystem
• Consolidate key findings in well articulated internal fintech market intelligence report for our senior management
• Build request for proposal to leverage existing fintech scouting partner that could help scale our services when needed

• Passionate about the fintech startup/scale-up ecosystem and new business models, strong willingness to learn every day
• Key analytical skills. Ability to quickly grasp and synthetize market problems, key unique service proposals from fintechs as well as identifying opportunities and risks
• Ability to create trust relationships with entrepreneurs
• Ability to synthetize large amount of information

Expertise

• Knowledge of the key funding stages of startups / scale-ups and related challenges. Previous experience in a business angel / VC / Incubator role is a big plus
• Understanding of the key technological trends, new business models and how they create differentiating value
• Broad understanding of the functioning of capital markets
• Knowledge of Euroclear products and services
• Experience in project management
