Summary
Who May Apply?US Citizens currently residing within the commuting area of Chievres Air Base, Belgium (not ordinarily resident in Belgium). US resident alien family members of US sponsors who are citizens of NATO countries other than Belgium and possess a valid green card and US Social Security Number (SSN).
This position is located at the USAG Benelux, DFMWR, Java Café-BENE BREW, Chievres Air Base, Belgium
Responsibilities
- Prepares a variety of hot and cold beverages. Sets up food service counters with hot and cold foods.
- Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary. Maintains related cash records. Keeps work area clean and orderly.
- Sets tables, seats guests, records guests’ selections and turns in orders to the kitchen. Cleans and sanitizes tables and immediate area.
- Receives verbal and written assignments to complete tasks accurately and promptly. Works independently and accomplishes work on own initiative. Work will be evaluated for accuracy, promptness and good customer relations.
- Greet all customers in a courteous and professional manner.

- Must be 18 years old at the time of appointment.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area routinely wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties.
- Rotating schedule. Duty hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Working Conditions: Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat. Care is required to avoid serious injury in food preparation and storage areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually
Qualifications
Candidates must:
1. Meet the local age requirement of 18 years old for the serving of alcoholic beverages at the time of appointment.
2. Have the ability to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
3. Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
4. Have skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and/or nonalcoholic beverages.
Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume.

Know simple food handling techniques.
Able to work safely.
Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for items at the same time.
