As a functional analyst, you will be the bridge between the business and the IT supplier that provides both technical & functional services for implementing SAP Projects.

You will make sure that business-critical requirements, together with user requirements are documented through functional specifications and translated into an application solution. You will perform this together with the Business Analyst for Sales and the Business Analyst for Service.

What are the main tasks of a Functional Analyst?

• Capture all requirements from the business;
• Collaborate with the external partner (integrator) to ensure proper maintenance of the current system (both general maintenance & evolutive maintenance);
• Monitor the system & take appropriate actions when needed;
• Collaborate with the Business Analyst and end-users to fully understand issues & possible improvements that might lead to changes of the system;
• Ensure together with the SAP Manager, the Business Analyst & the SAP Integrator the business continuity;
• Document all changes & ensure proper technical documentation is delivered by the SAP Integrator;
• Signal risks and issues to the SAP Manager & Group IT Management;
• Create test scripts based on used cases/business scenarios provided by the Business Analysts;
• Test delivered changes to the system together with the Business Analyst & Key Users;
• Support in the proper adoption of the new system by the end-users, in support of the Business Analysts & Central Key Users;
• Participate in blueprint workshops for an S4Hana project;
• Become the internal expert in your domain on an S4Hana level;
• Strongly collaborate with the Business Analyst.

What are the needed competencies?

• As the functional analyst will be in constant contact with a lot of people within your domain (Sales & Service), therefore strong communication skills are crucial;
• Analytical, in order to be able to quickly see improvements and simplifications;
• The functional analyst should have good insights in systems & SAP SD, FSM, … functions;
• Adaptation – as a functional analyst you should be able to quickly adapt based on changes within the business as this is moving constantly because of the strong ambitions of the Group;
• Able to document technical changes to the SAP system;
• Good technical background;
• Open to travel abroad, each time for a short period except during training;
• Experience as a functional analyst within SAP is a must;
• You are able to turn chaos into structured information;
• Find pleasure in keeping that information up-to-date;
• Your work is extremely accurate and precise;
• You are very service oriented towards end-users;
• You have strong experience with SAP Projects & preferably with S4Hana;
• Keep deadlines although information is rapidly changing and often incomplete;
