Purpose of the role
- Gondella Group has as a key strategic objective to move towards partnerships within total concept sales, this role should contribute to this on a daily basis.
- Contribute significantly to increasing sales and net profit.
- The essence of the role is to transform Integral into a successful operating company within the Group that is future-proofed, profitable and a great place to work for our people.
- The GM must maintain a good balance between people management on one hand, and further building structures, processes and procedures across all departments and disciplines on the other. Stakeholder management is essential, along with the ability to effectively lead the team in both task-oriented and people-oriented ways.
Responsibilities and tasks
As GM you assume Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility, overseeing Integral’s financial. Core responsibilities include managing the service and product offering, revenues, and expenses, and aligning Integral’s agenda with the Group’s strategy.
In addition the GM also fulfils the role of the Operations Managerand will be directing the operations function- including the manufacturing process, the shop floor, planning, R&D and product innovation, order execution, project management, and so on.
Key accountabilities as General Manager of Integral:
- The GM contributes to the strategic planning process of the group, setting long-term goals and objectives for the business, and as such provides financial insight on the operating company, market and customer insights, analysis to support decision-making, risk assessments and mitigating actions, etc. to ensure the financial considerations are integrated in the strategic initiatives.
- The GM monitors and analyses the financial performance of the operating company. This includes regularly reviewing financial statements, assessing the health of the business, and reporting to the CEO of the Group – analysis of performance, areas for improvement or corrective actions to be implemented, if required.
- The GM will drive revenue growth, increase sales and manage the sales pipeline in the chosen market segments, ensuring the entire customer journey is well coordinated within the business, aiming at a positive, engaging customer experience.
- The GM is responsible for budgeting and forecasting, setting financial targets and key performance indicators, and action planning to achieve these set targets.
- The GM oversees cost control measures ensuring expenses are aligned with budgets and operational requirements. This may involve identifying areas for cost reduction, negotiating with suppliers, optimizing processes and managing resources effectively.
- And all of this in the context of leading and motivating the team to achieve the (financial) goals and objectives that have been set. This includes providing guidance, coaching, and support to the team members and fostering a healthy culture, amongst others based on clear accountabilities and performance excellence.
As Operations Manager, you will:
- Determe the operational strategy, establishing and implementing policy guidelines regarding health & safety, environment, quality, planning, investments, improvement projects, people, etc. to ensure an efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing and order fulfillment processes, thus contributing to the performance of the business unit.
- Drive the R&D and product development activities, in response to changes in demand, either from customers or from a regulatory perspective, also ensuring (compliance of) the sustainability of the operations at present and in the future.
- Adopt continuous improvement as a way of living, both in terms of technology, operating performance and processes, and ensure compliance with regulation in all aspects of the work. Excell in managing relationships with general contractors, suppliers and customers.
- Ensure the on-time-in-full delivery of projects, with the right product quality, through excellent project management, planning and supporting (cost calculation, production drawings, procurement, etc.) activities.
- Ensure projects are completed in line with customer expectations, ensuring appropriate management of cost and services, and debtor management.
Knowledge & Experience
- Master’s degree in a technical or (technical) economic field.
- Solid experience in the management of project businesses and at least 5 years of experience in a similar position. Experience in a family-owned business context is a plus.
- Experience in change management and in reporting at the executive level.
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment (joinery, cooling technology, project management) is a must.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (social regulation, building sector related regulation, cooling techniques regulation, etc.).
- Knowledge on a MS Business Central environment is a plus.
Languages: Fluent in Dutch, French and English (both spoken and written).

- Sharp analytical skills combined with a hands-on entrepreneurial mentality, strong leadership, people management and social skills, good in external and internal communication.
- Someone who can make the right decisions both in the short and long term. Someone who dares to challenge, as we currently mainly operate on a short-term basis.
- Strategic insight, dedication, and strong communication skills. Experience in reporting at the executive level.
- Stakeholder management, inclusive leadership, being able to lead both task-oriented and people-oriented, and showing appreciation towards the workforce characterize who you are as a leader. In addition to an intrinsic interest and affinity for the craftsmanship mastered within Integral.
- Ability to take decisions, lead others and execute.
