We are looking for a hands-on General Manager Operations for our BeLux Contract Logistics Department,

Your Role

You will be part of an enthusiastic and dynamic team working across our 8 BeLux operations. From the various sites in Geel, Eindhout, Tessenderlo, Luik, Beringen and Contern Tiel, we serve too leading customers. You are the ’right hand’ of the Area Director. You are the pivot between the sites and the supporting departments within the organisation. You are active at operational, tactical and strategic level and jointly responsible for the results and successes of BeLux. You work closely with the teams with a strong focus on operational improvement and implementations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Optimise existing operational processes and procedures,
  • Ensure an adequate division of tasks within projects and improvement projects Specifying responsibilities in the financial, logistic and social area,
  • Co-draft the annual plan including annual (rofo) budget with regard to, among others, turnover, GP, manpower and achieving the objectives defined in this budget,
  • Realise agreed performances towards customers and projects,
  • Actively initiate and supporting the implementation of the continuous improvement programme at the various sites,
  • Actively support and work on increasing competence with regard to new implementations,
  • Standardise and optimise working methods, planning, processes and procedures across the various sites.

Your Skills And Experiences

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Engineering, Business Administration, etc.;
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar position in a complex logistics environment, preferably in the field of contract logistics (3PL);
  • Extensive and successful management experience,
  • You have excellent social and communication skills; Analytically strong, enterprising, problem-solving and financially literate,
  • You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch will be plus.
