Role Summary
- The Global In Vivo Sciences (IVS) Operations Lead will provide global operational and strategic leadership for IVS global initiatives across multiple sites in North America and the European Union and for worldwide enterprise-level cross-sector initiatives.
- Manage IVS global resourcing, forecasting, metrics, and operations, including strategic and financial planning that builds operational efficiencies across our global team and enterprise activities
- Promote a culture of care for animals and improve the application of the 3R’s to animal care and scientific projects using innovative approaches and proactive application of alternatives
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners to drive operational excellence and portfolio management, including identifying and monitoring key performances indicators
- Develop and apply tools for portfolio overview, business analytics, innovation,and resource/capacity management, including advising the Global Head of IVS on areas of improvement in quality and efficiencies.
- Oversee departmental project planning activities, including standardization, harmonization, and globalization initiatives, including serving as a visible and effective change agent
- Establish and expand internal business operational strategies and change management approaches
- Collaboratively and effectively resolve real or perceived issues with regulators, animals, scientists, management, staff and contractors.
- Conduct business process reviews with a focus on continuous improvement, portfolio optimization, and operational efficiencies
- Develop and execute robust departmental communication plans for local and global initiatives and change management goals
- Build and maintain infrastructure to support the departmental communications process, including responsibility for ensuring appropriate content and design of local website and SharePoint area
- Serve as a key point of accountability in implementing the departmental communication strategies, including providing routine and as needed departmental communications
- Participate on various local and global committees to represent the department, or the company, to internal and external stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field of study required with minimum of five (5) years of professional experience is required
- LATG, CMAR, and/or PMP certifications are highly preferred
- Experience in a biomedical research setting or major biotech/pharma is preferred
- Experience in project management and/or change management is required
- The overall background of experience and education should be sufficient to allow performance of the job requirements listed.

- Ability to function independently with minimal direction and the capacity to expand areas of expertise and learn new skills to meet changing needs
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including executive presentation skills
- Ability to effectively translate strategy into action-oriented execution and implementation
- Must be able to work under time constraints and met assigned deadlines
- Works effectively with complex, multidisciplinary and matrix teams
- Must be able to work with external regulatory agencies and accreditation groups.
- Interacts with all levels within the organization to communicate quality/compliance and concerns/issues
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, Skype, Outlook, calendar management and web browsers, procurement tools, or similar programs. Colleagues should be able to use online systems such as time tracking and document management. (e.g., SharePoint, Beacon); Knowledge and use of other systems based upon job function may be required (e.g., MS Projects, Financial tracking, analysis and reporting tools)
- Some travel required; Some “off-core business hours” meeting participation and work required
- Performs other duties as assigned
