Health Safety Security & Environment Support Manager (M/F)

For our Business Sustainability department, in Brussels, we are looking for a Health Safety Security & Environment Support Manager.

• You are responsible for supporting our Belgian operational entities (located at different sites: Brussels, Bruges, Gent, port of Antwerp, Amercoeur, St Ghislain & Coo) by ensuring that they know exactly what needs to be done to meet the (European/Belgian/regional) legislation and the rules defined at Engie Group Level. As a true business support you also help them in developing/adapting their processes accordingly and by carrying out the follow up.
• Your core tasks will consist out of analyzing the corporate guidelines/rules and different laws, assessing whether they apply at the various Belgian entities, and translating them into clear actions by closely liaising with the operational leaders and the local HSSE managers.
• You will collaborate with the local HSSE Managers to assess whether some of the local Health Safety, Security & Environment processes could be more efficiently organized on the Belgian level, rather than on the different local levels.
• You support the operational management teams in the preparation & implementation of long & short term HSSE action plans
• You establish a network with external stakeholders (such as Occupational Health Service, environmental and safety experts, governmental services, …) and members of the HSSE community of the BU. By exchanging best practices and sharing knowledge you contribute in this way to the overall improvement of the HSSE performance.
• In your function as HSSE Support Manager you report directly to HSSE Manager of Cluster North.

• You hold a master/bachelor degree and have demonstrated HSSE experience in an industrial environment.
• You hold a Health and Safety Advisor 1 or 2 certificate and if you don’t, you are willing to obtain this certificate on the short term. Having knowledge in the areas of environmental and security management is a plus.
• You have a hands-on-mentality and service-minded attitude.
• If not present, you are willing to develop a good understanding of the operations in BUGEN.
• You are able to manage complexity via a structured approach.
• You have good analytical skills, yet are able to capture the essentials and to communicate concisely about them.
• It speaks for itself that you have a strong safety and environmental awareness and always take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues!
