Position title: Industrieel Ingenieur / Industrial Engineer - DYMO

Location: Sint-Niklaas, BE

Reports to: Production & Warehouse Manager

Contract type: Permanent, full-time

Job Summary

As an Industrial Engineer you will coordinate initial work assignment and routing activities. You will support development and implementation of changes to improve existing conditions (layouts, routing, material, etc.) and serve as the communication link to/from production.

You will support Production & Warehouse Manager in projects regarding lean manufacturing, 6S, continuous improvement, labour efficiency, material usage, energy consumption, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), KPI reporting and other.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitors tests, analyzes results and reports findings and actions.
  • Synchronizes the engineering activities with the other departments to minimize interruption of the supply chain activities.
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and highlighting process related problems.
  • Responsible for a smooth transition of projects into production, including training.
  • Supports the shift supervisors and team leads in their daily activities.
  • Looks for training opportunities for team and shift leads and generates proposals to Production & Warehouse Manager.
  • Actively participates in global lean program and operational excellence.
  • Monitors the KPI’s of the manufacturing department and makes use of all sources of data to define opportunities for improvements (Labor, Overhead, Scrap, Safety and Environment, etc.).
  • Maintains a portfolio of potential improvement projects.
  • Defines the scope and target of an improvement project; manages the “Projectsheet” and timeline; regularly reports the project status to Management.
  • Makes estimates on ROI of proposed improvements by calculated budgets.
  • Maintains, further supports system standard times of all manufacturing jobs (SBB’s).
  • Develops and maintains a system to manage the routings in the ERP system in line with the target set.
  • Facilitates the continuous improvements of 6S.
  • Complies with existing Health & Safety and Environment policies, instructions and procedures, promotes safe work practices as the highest priority and implements objectives for ergonomics, health and safety, and housekeeping.
  • Complies with existing ISO policies, instructions and procedures.
  • Responsible for keeping ISO instructions linked with the job available and up to date.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant and practical experience in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience in production techniques.
  • Very good knowledge of Dutch and English.
  • High proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
Preferred
  • Team player with ability to work independently as well as

  • Problem solver
  • SAP knowledge is an asset.
