Internal Auditor

Summary

We are looking for an Internal Auditor to join our team in Leuven!

Your mission will be to enable Guardsquare to grow, primarily by assessing, monitoring and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the current processes and by assisting in the set-up of new processes. You will gather an solid understanding of the existing business processes and are actively involved in improving them. In this role you will work closely together with almost all divisions in the company, as well with the finance department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, plan and execute internal audits, both for finance as non-finance processes
• Prepare regular audit reports with process recommendations
• Assess existing business risks and propose the necessary remediation actions if needed
• Assist all entities in the group in the execution of the recommended implementation and monitor that all agreed management action plans and procedures are subsequently implemented on time and report on the status of implementation
• Evaluate the appropriateness of internal control documentation for financial processes, IT applications, including planning documents, narratives, process maps, walkthroughs, and tests of controls
• Active cooperation in projects to develop and improve the internal audit function (policies and procedures, training, implementation…)
• Interact professionally with external auditors

Profile

• 4+ years of working experience, including 2+ years in an internal/external audit or controlling role
• Understanding of financial and business processes and the risks surrounding those processes
• Thorough knowledge of audit systems and experience with risk management
• Able to independently plan and execute an audit, and report to management
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Solid analytical, technical, and project management skills
• Hands-on, flexible, able to function in a fast-paced environment
• Strong user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• You speak fluent English
