For more than 25 years POLYMER TEAM is known as one of the market leaders in

production and sales of APP (Atactic Polypropylene) and IPP (Isotactic

Polypropylene) compounds for application in modified bitumen roofing. The

company owns 3 production sites. The two Italian sites produce solely APP

compounds whereas the Belgian factory in Tessenderlo is dedicated to both APP

and IPP compounds.

Recently, Polymer Team Tessenderlo started a diversification of its activities by developing and commercializing Polypropylene compounds, based mainly on recycled PP-streams, for use in various injection molding and extrusion applications. To support this diversification process an important investment program was initiated to extend and adapt the laboratory and production facilities, and to reinforce the internal technical knowledge. By 2024 they will be able to double the production capacity.

To help achieve this goal, they are currently looking for a Lab Supervisor (m/v/x) , based in Tessenderlo.

Vacancy

In this position, you will analyze, supervise and manage the day-to-day laboratory activities.

• You will manage the lab and lead a small team of 3 lab workers
• responsible for the quality of the end products produced
• responsible for the controlling of incoming raw materials (quality)
• responsible for preparing formulas and labelling for production
• making new formulation in the lab
• research new projects
• responsible for approving new samples
• making QC reports for PP Injection
• responsibility for maintenance of lab equipment
• purchase of new lab equipement, labels, solvents,… .
• provide information for people in production and participate in meetings about production matters.
• taking over business from the plant manager when he is not present
• production follow-up in access database ( campaigns, silo’s, mixers, income , register,… )
• calculate formula costs
• you will report directly to the R&D Manager (located in Italy, but regularly visits the plant in Tessenderlo)

Profile

• You have experience as a chemical engineer
• You have knowledge on polymers/recycled polymers
• You have experience with the recycling of raw materials
• You are fluent in Dutch and English
• You have a hands-on approach
• You have excellent organizational and leadership skills
