A leading retailer is looking for a Compliance Officer- Jurist to participate in the development of its activities in Belgium and Luxembourg. You will be responsible for ensuring legal follow-up to negotiations for all of the company’s activities. You will therefore accompany the negotiations and ensure strict compliance with the rules of the Commercial Code and competition law.

Your responsibilities:

• Contractualise the company’s relationships with all its service providers, in particular by drafting framework contracts with suppliers.
• Reviewing and responding to suppliers’ terms and conditions.
• Supporting negotiations with suppliers and providing legal advice.
• Analysing and processing legal information, preparing files and drafting documents.
• Respecting and ensuring that employees comply with legislation and regulations (particularly relating to commercial practices and competition law).
• Organise regular training on the legal rules to be respected.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and inform the teams of these changes.
• Implementing internal procedures relating to product compliance, in particular with regard to restrictive practices and competition law.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and regulatory authorities.

Profile:

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business law, commercial law.
• You have 5 to 10 years experiences as a Jurist, ideally in the retail sector or with an international supplier.
• You are familiar with contract law, competition law, consumer law and distribution law.
• You have good interpersonal and writing skills.
• You are autonomous, rigorous and have a sense of responsibility
• You are able to propose amicable or legal solutions to disputes
• You are able to analyse and synthesise legal problems quickly.
• You have a perfect command of French and English, Dutch is a plus.
