New employee position as Linux specialist. You will join our Econocom opensource team in a creative engineering role. It’s a position with a lot of freedom for people who are eager to learn. You can play in our own labo and develop the most appropriate solutions.

The Challenge!

At Econocom, we serve a large number of clients who use a variety of Unix Systems. We are proud on our expertise and like to keep up with the latest technologies. As a member of our team, you will participate in hardware and software maintenance for our customers. Your expertise will be called upon to analyze problems, identify technical solutions and ensure optimal management of storage environments (SAN, NAS).

Which skills help you in this position ?

  • You like to develop yourself and like to keep up with the latest technologies.
  • You have a good general hardware knowledge (CPU, MEM, RAID, FC, Ethernet, SSD, ...).
  • You are proficient in one or more Unix operating systems and have a good foundation in Linux environments and virtualization. (Aix, HP-UX, Solaris, OpenVMS, True64, Red-Hat, Suse, ESXi)
  • You have a solid understanding of SAN and NAS storage technologies. (IBM, EMC2, HP, DELL, NetApp,..)
  • You have a basic knowledge of LAN networks (switches).
  • You are familiar with monitoring platforms (Nagios, Centreon, ...).
  • You are able to analyze log files and provide accurate technical reports.
  • You have experience in technical support and troubleshooting, and you are ready to provide quality support to our customers.
  • You can communicate in Dutch or French AND English
