Job Description

Manager, Product Management & Innovation

Location: Mechelen / Belgium

Position Purpose:

To manage the portfolio of inbound product solutions, including containers and liners. This role would working closely with the Inbound solutions leadership team focus on innovation in the In product categories.

Your Key Accountabilities:

• New product design & development within the guidelines for IMF (Innovation Management Framework).

• Capable to translate customer needs captured via User Requirement Specifications - gathered by Customer Solution team or yourself - into future technical solutions or features. This might be via ideas that can be turned into concepts and designs and later validated to confirm the validity of proposed solutions

• Prio: Seasoned Product & material knowledge, especially in plastic & re-usable materials

• Prio: Building network of suppliers, including their UVP &technical capabilities

• Prio: Ensure that products are fit for purpose through trials, testing & validation

• Assess new opportunities in the market for improvement

• Actively contribute to the definition and on-going review of a portfolio management and innovation vision for the inbound category.

• Life Cycle Management with the on-going purpose to streamline existing portfolio through SKU rationalization and product upgrade to make the most the value of existing assets.

• Technical support to commercial activities whenever required as a clear opportunities to collect insights and generated engagement from actively networking

• Interact with other areas such a Customer Solutions, Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Project and Asset Management to consolidate an integral product offer from multiple angles to cover the complexity of the pooling model.

• Manage the day to day running of the product portfolio.
• Work with stakeholders to develop existing and new products as required by the business.
• Ensure that products are fit for purpose through trials and testing as required.
• Adherence to safety and quality standards
• Support intellectual property construction and documentation


We look for:

• Industrial Engineer or Product design Engineer with minimum 4 years experience
• Relevant experience in bulk packaging forms
• Previous project management experience
• seasoned Product & material knowledge, especially in plastic & re-usable materials
• Strong communication & Time management skills
