Our Procurement Development division is part of the Manufacturing Development team and acts as the bridge between the Production and our EMEA Product Design department. This team is responsible for the start-up and built of new product development and continuous improvements of strategic product groups

Your role

As a Manufacturing Development Cost Engineer you take part in the design, the development and the roll out of new projects where a target unit cost is set forward.

  • You will be the project leader of several cost down projects and will negotiate with different parties to implement certain improvements. You’ll coordinate these projects from beginning until the end.
  • You will work closely together with our Production Engineers as well as our Development Engineers within our R&D department
  • You are responsible for the cost calculations in collaboration with the design cost simulation team
  • You will prepare tear down projects of specific units to check the cost of the assembly but also the cost of components while taking into account the logistics flows and assembly methods on our production lines.
  • The job will be a combination between a desk job and active job as you will also work within our production to follow the unit into our MT shop.

Your profile

  • You obtained a Master’s degree, preferably within Industrial Engineering and with a technical specialization eg. Electromechanics, mechanics, …
  • You are communicative, with a proactive mindset and not afraid to take initiative while working in team.
  • Knowledge or affinity of SAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of both spoken and written English are essential for this job. Knowledge of another European language is a plus.
  • You’re open for occasional travel. Travelling can grow within a couple of years because of long-term manufacturing strategy.
  • This vacancy is open to both recent graduates and candidates with experience.
