We are excited to be actively recruiting within our Markets Product Team in Product & Purchasing, a global platform department that works across TUI source markets. The team’s aim is to create a common accommodation portfolio based on local market and customer requirements, whilst facilitating profit optimisation across markets on a group level, to improve TUI’s competitive situation overall.In your role as Markets Product Manager, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the accommodation strategy within Long Haul, focusing on Florida and certain Caribbean destinations, to ensure TUI’s products are not only loved by our customers but are also commercially sound for all TUI markets.As you will be working in an international team, this role can be based in any of our main TUI Offices in Europe and offers flexible working options.The closing date for applications is Friday 6th January.About The Role- Have responsibility for shaping and delivering the accommodation strategy (regardless of sourcing method) for your destinations. You will achieve this by developing a thorough knowledge of each destination, its resort characteristics and with a full understanding of all product available you will determine how this product can be best utilised across all markets within the TUI Group.
- Responsible for the seasonal planning activity which includes: understanding source market requirements, conducting an in-depth review of commercial performance and hotel volume forecasting. The output of this will be a common product plan that maximises group synergies, setting initial allotments and splits by markets for your destinations.
- Work collaboratively with the Local Source Market Product teams to ensure the destination strategy fulfils their requirements and that you have a solid understanding of the differences, similarities and opportunities by source market, including an understanding of the competitive landscape within each of the markets.
- You will brief Local Source Market Product teams on both short and longer term destination product plans, using your expert knowledge to gain buy-in for the targets set and build engagement in the product selection.
- Be responsible to construct and present a solid bed brief to Purchasing as well as to Dynamic/Acco Only, which represents the Source Markets requirements and considers the wider TUI Group strategy, such as the growth of sustainable hotels.
- The main contact point for Group Purchasing managers, supporting the delivery of the Central Markets bed brief to the Purchasing & Dynamic sourcing teams and will be responsible for tracking progress against this in line with deadlines and set targets.
- Throughout the selling period you will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how your portfolio is performing through regular monitoring of commercial and quality performance across the hotel portfolio, initiating actions to mitigate underperformance including re-negotiations, instigating quality performance plans and sourcing of the best offers.
- You will closely monitor and follow up on trading of destinations, exclusivities, risk units and in-house units including adjusting forecasts during season, and amending the product plan as required.
- As part of the Markets Product team you will participate on projects to develop the business and optimise operational processes.
- A confident professional with experience in product management or related functions, ideally geographical knowledge & understanding of TUI’s Long Haul destinations and a strong network in at least one of TUI’s Source Markets
- A team player who can build strong cross-team, division and market relationships with colleagues to find the best solution to possibly conflicting demands and deliver optimal performance
- Customer focussed mindset (internal and external)
- Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen, with the ability to balance customer needs with commercial viability in order to make a sound decision
- You embrace change, show strong initiative and are able to deliver both working on your own and in a team and can cope well under pressure whilst displaying a positive can-do attitude
- Highly organised with a flexible approach to working within a fast-changing international environment and the ability to drive process improvements and shape the way we work
- Technically you will be a confident user of MS office and able to pick up in-house sytems with ease
- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written (fluent business English) and with a strong understanding of cultural aspects, ideally with experience in working in cross-market teams
