About The Job(s)

Based in Mons/Braine L’Alleud, Belgium (- location pending on the exact post) you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will be responsible for performing duties across all service management dimensions and the entire Service Value System (SVS) of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services at various expertise levels. The duties will cover both projects, operational services, and future capabilities. These are multiple network technician and engineer roles that focus on the WAN, LAN, including WiFi and Data Centre (DC), within the static and deployable networks infrastructure services throughout NATO.

Through this Recruitment Campaign, we are aiming to find multiple candidates that will be offered posts at different NATO grades. Your qualification and suitability for the posts will be assessed throughout the Campaign. We have multiple posts available with the generic job descriptions below reflecting the duties and qualifications across the vacant posts.
  • Senior and Principal Technician (NATO Grade 12 and 14 – base salary: 4,608.00 and 5,244.34 euro)
  • Engineer (NATO Grade 15 – base salary: 5,735.66 euro)
  • Senior Engineer (NATO Grade 17 – base salary: 7,068.58 euro)

All steps in this interview process are digital. Should a fully qualified and suitable candidate not be found, a post might be offered at a lower grade with a Personal Development Plan (PDP) - agreed with the candidate, across a defined period in line with performance management cycle, followed by an in-post non-competitive promotion to the grade of the post, upon successful completion of the PDP.

About You

We are looking for a talented and knowledgeable network professional with different backgrounds (please review our job descriptions).

Focus
  • Services and Technology Professional Certification (e.g. CCNP, NRS II, DCS-CA, ITILv3/ITIL 4,);
  • Experience in planning, design, system, services engineering, and implementation of communication aspects of C4ISR services:
  • Modern digital communication networking technologies, protocols and standards; communication networks specification, design and testing, with an emphasis on IP networks, including IPv6, QoS, as well as software defined networking (e.g. SD WAN, SDDC, ACI);
  • Communications infrastructure and network service management and control;
  • Modern Enterprise Service Management and Control techniques and standards;
  • Familiarity with related international / commercial / industrial standards.
  • Deployment, operation, administration and maintenance of multivendor (e.g. Cisco, Nokia, Dell) WAN and LAN, including WiFi and DC infrastructure, as well as enterprise environments;
  • Configuration and operation of services automation, orchestration network monitoring and event management software tools (e.g. Intermapper, CA Spectrum, HP Network Automation, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA and Splunk);
  • Activities related to working in a centrally managed enterprise environment.
  • Experience and a thorough understanding of configuration control and management concepts, processes and tools for ICT infrastructure items through their full lifecycle.
Knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential.
