For the Ibis Aalst Centrum we are looking for anOperations Manager.

This Ibis is centrally located near the main access road to the city center. The atmosphere and ambiance can be described as very cozy and trendy, with a clientele that has a good mix of business and leisure guests. The hotel is primarily room-oriented but also features a pleasant restaurant/bar/breakfast area in a vibrant atmosphere. The young and dynamic team consists of approximately 20 employees.

Responsibilities

As the Operations Manager, you are the right hand of the General Manager and take over responsibilities in his absence. You are responsible for running the daily operations, ensuring perfect organization across all departments, with a focus on Reception, Housekeeping, and the smooth operation of F&B. You maintain close contact with the GM and the team, providing support across a broad range of tasks. You focus on delivering high-quality services and oversee the productivity of the different departments.

A significant task specific to this structure is personnel management. You are responsible for the scheduling and planning, acting as the point of contact for personnel-related matters, and also handling payroll.

Additionally, you regularly engage on the work floor and are, together with the GM, the face of the hotel, both to guests and staff.

Your Main Tasks:

· Leading the team of approximately 20 people

· Ensuring excellent service and accurate administration

· Personnel management: administration, recruitment, coaching, guiding, and evaluating employees

· Operational policy: information flow to departments, optimizing work processes, ensuring quality

· Step in to operations when needed (Front Office and F&B)

· Managing group requests and reservations

· Processing invoicing and following up on management administration

· Contributing to the strategy and innovation of the hotel

For this challenging position, we are seeking someone with a strong dose of enthusiasm and ambition, a proactive person who is willing to roll up their sleeves. You already have experience in hospitality and insight into the operational working of various departments. Ideally, you have been in a leadership position for several years and are ready to take the next step.

Furthermore, you possess the following skills:

· Bachelor-level work and thinking

· Straightforward, proactive, hands-on

· A true people manager who enjoys being on the floor

· Quality and guest-oriented

· Some experience with scheduling, rosters, and hotel systems

· Flexible and independent

· Fluent language skills: Dutch, English & French

· Knowledge revenue management, to make sure business is coming in at the right price
