The Renewable energy sector of John Cockerill is one of the world leaders in the field with solutions addressing the Energy transition.

This now includes solar concentration power plants, microgrids with energy management systems and electric batteries, and hydrogen production and distribution solutions.

Context of need

John Cockerill Hydrogen, the Division responsible for Hydrogen solutions is the world leader in water electrolysis. With the largest number of large-scale references, we are rapidly expanding our business worldwide to fulfill the ambitious goals of the many countries wanting to reach a carbon neutral economy. This involves large investments in research and development, new manufacturing facilities and partnerships with key actors.

In order to sustain its leadership position in this fast-moving market, John Cockerill Hydrogen is recruiting an Origination Technical Manager (M / F / X) to support its growth.

Main duties

• Support the origination process from start to finish including contract negotiations
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers, partners and developers such as industries, municipals, project developers or energy companies
• Collaborate internally to identify and develop new market opportunities and craft value propositions to serve target market and/or customers
• Propose and develop new partnerships, including on technology, manufacturing and new geographic areas.
• Participate to the market and competitive analysis as requested
• Analyse the client’s technical needs and highlight pertinent information enabling the equipment to be defined (budget, environmental conditions, installation ...) and services (studies, assembly, ramp-up, training).
• Draw up of the technical bid:
• Drawing up of the technical specifications for the product and its peripherals
• Defining of the extent of the supplies and services
• Defining of the performances
• Validate the partnership documents with the client

Profile

• Master’s degree in engineering
• Experience: 5+ years, preferably in renewable energy roles
• Strong technical background in designing a solution
• Strong interest in hydrogen technologies
• Ability to negotiate partnership agreements and other contractual documents
• Ability to interact professionally and collegially with cross-functional internal teams
• Entrepreneurial, self-starter with a desire to learn and win
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to cultivate business and personal relationships with customers
• Demonstrated interest in developing him/herself in a business development role (creating new business relationships, negotiating and to closing business opportunities)
• Ability to travel (+/-15 to 20%) to visit customers, attend conferences, or other travel to support business needs
• A strong knowledge of power markets is a plus
• Languages: English, French, German; Dutch and Spanish are a plus
