A very good understanding and know-how of the automotive (after sales) industry, engineering, product planning or product management background. Professional project engineering/ project management/project planning and organizational skills. Strong relationship building, excellent communication and negotiating skills.
Highly developed analytical & root cause analysis, accurate and reliable, seeking for facts before making recommendations or decisions. A flexible team player with hands-on mentality, having a process oriented way of working. Taking ownership and being pro-active. Good knowledge and experience with DRBFM & FMEA.
High problem solving capability under deadline pressure. Cost and quality conscious mind.
Good knowledge of office IT tools. Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written).
Fluent English is a must (any other European language(s) is / are an asset). At ease and respectful of cultural differences. Willing to travel 10-20% of time. Driving license.
Knowledge and experience with CATIA v5 will be an asset.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering (Master degree is an asset)
- 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, development, project engineering or production experience in the automotive or relevant industry (Remanufacturing of Automotive components, brake pads, brake disc, battery, cabin air filter, wiper blades, light bulbs.)

MVP Parts Planning & Development team, part of TME Value Chain organisation, is responsible for development of local MVP (market value parts or an economic 2nd line next to the Original Spare parts) and Reman (remanufactured) parts. The development activity is done in close cooperation with local suppliers, related divisions in Toyota Motor Europe, R&D and our mother divisions in Japan, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC). As a member of the MVP Development team, you are responsible for the development of Reman products (Turbo Charger, Brake Caliper, Starter & Alternator, Fuel systems), MVP (Brake pads & discs, battery, cabin air filter, engine air filter, oil filter, wiper blades, light bulbs) & Oil and Chemicals (engine oil, gear oil, coolant, brake fluid and other oils & chemicals). Today we cover more than 20 product groups or commodities within the team. You act as project engineer to develop Reman & MVP by achieving Quality, Cost & Lead time targets in close collaboration with suppliers and other related TME & TMC divisions.
The development engineer will follow up as a project leader for the complete development cycle and remains responsible until the parts are available on stock and have been handed over to the Parts Marketing team.
Your responsibilities:
You will be leading and driving the full development process for MVP and Reman parts to achieve on time introduction within budget target & technical requirements.
You will perform when required design reviews with suppliers (DRBFM & FMEA) to assure MVP parts meet technical specifications and quality standards.
You will be controlling & supporting suppliers to meet development milestones.
You take proactive action for quality improvement during development & mass production phases.
You perform investigation & implementation of cost reduction & performance improvement possibilities.
