Job description

Spectricity is a spin-off of imec, a leading R&D center in nanoelectronics and digital technologies in Belgium. Spectricity develops miniaturized, integrated spectral sensing systems for the fields of agriculture, food analysis, health, and biomedical applications for industrial and consumer markets.

Within the dynamic, multidisciplinary and growing team of technologists, hardware- and software engineers and application experts, we are looking for an enthusiastic Process Engineer.

Your main responsibilities will be to

  • Analyze in-line and end-of-line metrology data and report the results.
  • Correlate in-line/end-of-line data and wafer test/device data and gain insights in yield status and improvements.
  • Define, optimize and characterize in-line monitoring structures for new products.
  • Simulate new process modules/flows to predict and gain insights.
  • Optimize process technology steps and modules across semiconductor tools towards high volume production.

In your role you will

  • Apply and expand scripts to analyze data and simulate process steps (up to 50%).
  • Collaborate with Spectricity Test team to correlate in-line/end-of-line data and wafer test/device data and gain insights in yield status and improvements (up to 50%).
  • Collaborate with Spectricity Product Development team to translate product specs into a process flow, and process and module specifications.
  • Collaborate with Spectricity Research teams to define the next generation technologies, build the roadmap and develop new process capabilities.
  • Collaborate with integration engineers at partner foundries and process step/semiconductor tool responsibles to define and optimize the process technology steps and flow for our products.

Your profile, skills and talents

Ideally you are a creative, self-dependent engineer, highly-motivated to be part of a dynamic team creating new value, continuously and actively seeking better solutions for our problems. Specifically:

  • You have a master’s degree in engineering, physics or chemistry with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • A PhD in a relevant domain is a plus.
  • You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a semiconductor foundry environment, working with semiconductor equipment, and have good understanding of all manufacturing processes principles for CMOS manufacturing as well as for in-line inspection and metrology systems.
  • You have a good understanding of general engineering principles including electronics.
  • Experience with python, or other scripting/coding platforms.
  • Experience with process simulation tools is a big plus.
  • You are fluent in English, and have excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in reporting project plans and status and general Project management
  • You are open to occasionally worldwide traveling.

You will help us be successful when:

  • You are a good team player, able to pursue and find compromise through constructive discussion, enthusiasm and skills
  • You are result-driven, you have a natural desire to analyze and solve problems and you are self-critical
  • You are highly focused on delivering and finding solutions in a complex environment with many stakeholders and trade-offs
  • You have a high sense of urgency to implement quality principles and procedures
