For our Zeebrugge LNG terminal (see the map here) we’re looking for a Project Engineer (m/f/x).

The Zeebrugge LNG terminal is Northwest Europe’s gateway for supplies of LNG (liquefied natural gas). LNG unloaded at the terminal can be redelivered for consumption on the Belgian market, trading on the Zeebrugge Hub or transportation to other end-user markets in any direction: France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Southern Europe and the UK.

Your
responsibilities

• You will participate in a range of projects linked to the operation of our LNG facilities, ensuring that those projects are implemented in a pragmatic, efficient and targeted way
• You will work with colleagues to prepare the projects and then implement and monitor them in the field. Most of the projects will be internal and process-related, such as the renewal, extension and automation of our facilities. You will also be encouraged to suggest possible improvements
• Eventually, you will be carrying out these LNG projects independently. The scale and responsibility of the projects will grow as you gain in experience
• In addition, you will be given immediate coaching to act as loading master within this role. This means that you will supervise the loading and unloading of our vessels. You will therefore go aboard the ship when it is docked at the LNG terminal and run through all the formalities with the first officer, check compliance with our (safety) procedures, analyse any risks and so facilitate the entire loading and unloading process, in particular start-up and ramp-down
• You will be based at our LNG site in Zeebrugge and will report to the site manager

you

For this role, you will need:

• A Master’s degree in civil or industrial engineering or equivalent experience
• Possibly a few years’ experience, preferably in an industrial environment. Experience in a SEVESO environment will be looked on favourably but is not a requirement
• Strong analytical and communication skills, together with a critical mindset and a professional maturity, allowing you to independently manage projects and analyses from start to finish, and enabling you to make the most of every situation
• A resolutefocus on results
• A fluent command of English and Dutch, both spoken and written, and a good grasp of French

In addition, this role implies/requires:

• A shift/on-call schedule (as Loading Master)
• A category B driving licence
