Regulatory Advocacy Manager - EU

Chemours is seeking a(n) Senior Manager Regulatory Advocacy TSS (Thermal & Specialized Solutions) to join our growing Regulatory Advocacy and Business Satiability organization in Europe.This position will report directly to the Head of Policy and Advocacy TSSand will be preferably based in Belgium.

The TSS organization works collaboratively across the business and functions in order to advance and protect TSS products and reputation. The Regulatory Advocacy Manager - EU will assist with developing business regulatory advocacy strategy for TSS and is responsible for execution of the EU regulatory advocacy strategy.

Due to the nature of the role, Belgium (or the Netherlands) is a preferred location for an easy access to Brussels. Locations in Germany from where you can still travel to Brussels are also an option.



The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop and execute effective regulatory advocacy strategies and tactics consistent with overall business strategy specific to management of TSS’s scope within EU PFAS regulatory frameworks/restrictions while advancing opportunities to transition to lower GWP solutions within the EU Climate Frameworks (F-Gas, MAC directive, EU Green Deal).
• Monitor EU-wide and member state specific planned, proposed and pending regulations, societal trends and perceptions and communicate implications to the business (issue management or opportunity).
• Identify the need for new regulatory advocacy initiatives based on monitoring and sensing.
• Subject matter expertise in relevant EU regulatory trends for internal and external Coalition building and customer engagement.
• Provide context and response to complex regulatory related questions, formulate positions and identify solutions
• Establish and extend internal and external network using regulatory thought leadership with Strategic Industry and Stakeholder Coalitions
• Interact with and educate EU-wide and member state specific policy and regulatory agencies, relevant trade and industry associations and other key stakeholders in order to positively influence emerging regulations.
• Develop and maintain a stakeholder management program consisting of tools, processes, and tracking to facilitate Chemours regulatory advocacy and strategic relationships with influencer organizations
• Draft and present reports, messaging and papers for internal and external stakeholders both in response to inquiries and to represent Chemours positions
  

The following isrequiredfor this role:

• Degree in engineering, environmental/life sciences, or related field with 10+ years regulatory and / or advocacy experience
• Excellent language skills in English(verbally, in writing, and in presentations), and a 2nd EU language is required.
• Proven track record of successful regulatory strategy or influence in regulation of chemical substances (fluorochemistry preferred)
• Proven ability to think strategically and track record of strategy development (regulatory advocacy and /or business strategy)
• Skilled in ability to adjust persuasion style and intensity to situation and audience.
• Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to track projects with varying deadlines employing hands on, fast thinking and proven experience in project and process management.
• Experience in providing strategic counsel to senior leaders
• Proven ability to establish and influence networks
• Extremely high-powered, results oriented individual
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a cross-functional business team
• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills

• Awareness of societal and regulatory trends for fluorochemistry
• Awareness of societal and regulatory trends for fluorochemicals and experience in HVAC Industry or Trade
• Previous experience within EU regulatory agency a plus
• Previous leadership role in trade association(s)
