POSITION: Sales Director / Director of Sales
LOCATION: Ronse, Belgium
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:
Given the versatility of their product offerings and their history as being a top provider in their industry sector, our client is poised to obtain both short-term and longer-term growth opportunities. To achieve this, it is key that the organization continues to focus on developing and expanding their distribution channels. The company is looking to bring on a strategic sales leader as their new Director of Sales to lead this effort.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Director of Sales will be part of the leadership team and will be responsible for driving new sales while expanding key market areas throughout Europe while driving long-term, sustainable growth and improving margins and profitability. The Director of Sales will create and implement the necessary sales strategy and be at the forefront of making sure the team is on track. The ideal candidate will be metrics and data driven and will instill the processes and procedures needed to operate a best-in-class commercial arm of the business. The Director of Sales must be able to serve as a player-coach, willing to be out in front of key customers, while leading a sales team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Mentor, coach and develop a team of sales associates.
§ Create and implement the strategic plan needed to increase revenue and profitability.
§ Build a strong sales pipeline and opportunity management approach through developing new customer relationships and supporting customer retention.
§ Uncover new market opportunities and refine the sales strategy as needed to realize these opportunities.
§ Partner with the Marketing and Product Development teams to identify opportunities for new product innovations and develop a correlating product strategy to be leveraged by the sales organization with existing and future prospects.
§ Enhance the sales approach by incorporating business relationships into a strategic sales plan with formalized marketing customer specific goals.
§ Highly organized and disciplined with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
§ Team player with the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment across all sectors of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education: Degree from a credited university.
Travel Requirements: Travel is required for this position. Applicants should expect a minimum of one week per month.
REQUIREMENTS and ABILITIES:
The Director of Sales must align with the company culture and values and will have a track record working as a player-coach, leading a team and selling a wide array of product offerings across multiple channels. The Director of Sales will have experience selling through distribution and agency partners. S/he will also operate strategically but show the willingness to get into the details as necessary to get things done.

- A history of building, leading and scaling a sales organization that exceeds targets and leverages distribution through multiple sales channels.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. You will be working with other business professionals and are expected to convey the value of the company’s product and programs, as well as the culture and values of the company outward to their customers.
- A sophisticated approach to B2B sales with a track record of successfully implementing a formalized and structured sales process and methodology.
- A high business acumen and communication style that goes beyond just selling.
- Languages: Dutch, English, French. German and any additional language is a bonus.
- Ability to work in a very fast paced multi-cultural environment.
