SALES & OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Today we are looking for a Sales & Operations Director to join our Executive Management Team for Sonova Retail Belgium & Luxembourg (Lapperre) and be responsible for the effectiveness and improvement of sales activities and business development.

Purpose of the function

In this function, you will lead the organization along with the Regional Sales Managers and the Team Continuous Improvement/Sales Services in the development of key initiatives and daily operations, engaging all levels of the organization to ensure the best customer and program adoption. You will be responsible for providing tools, resources and programs that are required to maximize effectiveness and efficiency within the business.
As business developer, you will also develop and implement solutions and processes related to retail expansion through greenfields openings, acquisition, and others including business focus, financial issues and insurance, integration and facility management.

Key tasks & responsibilities

More specifically, as Sales & Ops Director, you will be responsible for:

Sales activities
  • Designing, implementing, and managing sales forecasting, planning and budgeting processes, establishing high standards of quality, accuracy, integration and process consistency in planning, forecasting and budgeting approaches used by the organization.
  • Providing leadership to the sales organization and counsel to the Managing Director in implementing objectives that appropriately reflect the business goals.
  • Investing in growing leaders up through the organization by increasing transparency & understanding of executive core competencies – strategic planning, financial management, operational oversight & leadership.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to mentor, motivate, and retain employees.
  • Responsible for timely and equitably assignment of sales and operation targets and ensuring that the financial objectives are optimally allocated.
  • Partnering with marketing on local and overall marketing efforts and strategy to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of sales & the best customer journey.
  • Responsible for optimal deployment of sales personnel, making recommendations for changing roles, coverage models or team configurations in order to maximize productivity.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to define performance measurements and performance management programs, aligning reporting, training and incentive programs with these performance priorities.
  • Ensuring that sales reporting and other internal business intelligence is provided to the sales organization and developing new reporting tools as needed.
  • Instilling discipline in, developing new toolsets for and deploying training on operational best practices.
  • Initiating, implementing, and monitoring improvement activities aimed at reducing costs, increasing accuracy and efficiency, and both internal and external customer satisfaction in each operational area.
  • Operating in compliance with all local, state and federal laws as well as company policy and compliance standards.
  • Leading store expansion efforts to identify growth opportunities in target markets.

Operations
  • General management and oversight of the Operations Support department, including planning, directing and coordinating business operations.
  • Determining needs, reducing costs and analyzing areas requiring improvement.
  • Fostering an organization of continuous process improvement by partnering with senior leadership to identify opportunities for sales process improvement and facilitating successful implementation of new programs by ensuring a well-defined, efficient process is in place.
  • Working with the team to develop future growth plan and strategy, including optimization and scale of operations.
  • Providing the link between the Sales / Marketing / Finance / HR / Medical departments.
  • Working closely with internal departments to preform business analysis and define opportunities for enhancement and growth.
  • Directing the operations department to create operational excellence in our centers. This includes adoption of new business processes and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • General management and oversight of the Real Estate department, including planning, directing and coordinating lease administration, facilities management and commercial real estate.
  • Leading the Project team on all expansion efforts as it pertains to openings and acquisitions.
  • Directing the facilities management and maintenance of our centers.
  • Working with local marketing and global branding teams to assure that brand messaging is properly represented in our retail centers.
  • Leading the lease management efforts to assure that our leases for our nationwide real estate portfolio are maintained and kept current.
  • Negotiating lease terms in line with our business interests and the local markets.

Job qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business/Sales
  • 10+ years experience in sales, including operations responsibilities or assimilated
  • 10+ years experience in people management
  • Experience in omni-channel models and e-commerce
  • Experience is retail healthcare industry is preferred
  • ERP & CRM system experience
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strategic and analytic aptitude
  • Stakeholder management
  • Ability to multi-task and work under the constraints of deadlines
  • Fluent in Dutch, French and English
  • You can demonstrate leadership attributes such as active listening, defining issues, resolving conflict, being facilitative, inspiring and empowering staff.
