DMPK (drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics) is committed to the delivery of key ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics data across therapeutic areas. This mission requires deep scientific expertise in various disciplines including bioanalysis, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and chemistry as well as superior compliance for data integrity. The Development Bioanalysis group within DMPK supports quantitative analysis for a diverse range of activities including in-house bioanalytical support and the monitoring of out-sourced bioanalytical activities, and biomarker bioanalysis support. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as Scientist in the Development BA group. This position will be based in Beerse, Belgium Job Description: As a member of the Development BA team, you will support quantitative and qualitative assessment of oligonucleotides and their metabolites in biological matrices, primarily by LC-MS/MS. A large portion of the work will be providing hands-on support in the bioanalytical lab. You will also explore platforms beyond LC-MS such as qPCR and hybridization ELISA for bioanalytical support of oligonucleotide programs in discovery and development. You will enhance the analytical capability of the group to support mechanistic ADME investigation of oligonucleotides in cell-based models and in vivo measurements of intracellular distribution and endosomal release. You will play a key role in strengthening our bioanalytical capabilities of oligonucleotides and assist in resolving issues for all programs. You will be part of a dynamic team that focuses on innovative modalities, state of art analytical tools, and provide analytical solutions for challenging biological questions to bring novel therapeutics to patients. Qualifications Requirements A Ph.D. degree preferably in biochemistry, (Analytical)chemistry, biomedical sciences, pharmacology Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of (micro/nano) liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (both triple quadrupole and high-resolution MS) Hands-on experience with quantitative bioanalysis in complex biological matrices such as plasma, serum, and tissue, specifically for oligonucleotides and proteins. Hands-on experience with bioanalytical sample preparation skills, such as solid phase extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, immuno-affinity enrichment Knowledge and experience with bioanalysis method development and assay establishment and strong capability to independently troubleshoot Understanding of ADME and pharmacokinetics Prior analytical experience with protein and oligonucleotides (LC-MS, qPCR, or hybridization ELISA etc) is a plus. Hands on experience with qPCR and ELISA based techniques is a plus The ideal candidate should possess a very strong and critical analytical mindset and willing to work across different departments Are you ready to make an impact?
