Skills, knowledge, experience required:
  • Current in-depth knowledge and practical work experience of SCOM(Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager) in a large scale LAN-based client-server environment;
  • In-depth knowledge of installation and configuration of SCOM management packs;
  • Recent experience on design, installation and maintenance of SCOM environments over multiple Active Directory domains;
  • Experience with configuring monitoring of Linux based systems with SCOM;
  • Ability to quickly analyse and implement third party SCOM management packs;
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Duties/role:
  • Upgrading/reinstalling existing SCOM instances to the latest level;
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting SCOM management packs including third party management packs used to monitor network, storage, applications, etc;
  • Installing and configuring SCOM servers to enable monitoring across different Active Directory domains;
  • Administering SCOM(Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager) systems;
  • Tuning the SCOM configuration to prevent false-positive alerts;
  • Taking necessary actions to ensure all elements of IT services are monitored;
  • Monitoring the SCOM environments and taking appropriate actions;
  • Investigating and resolving issues in a systematic approach;
  • Performing other duties as may be required.
