Senior Audit Project Leader CAP

A company active in the Banking sector is currently looking to hire a Senior Audit Project Leader CAP (Client Asset Protection) to join their offices in Brussels. The internal Audit mission is to contribute to the efficiency of the company’s internal controls. In this role, you are primarily responsible for overseeing audit execution and managing the audit pipeline in the Client Asset Protection area. Thanks to your experience in finance and in audit, you will be the perfect addition to the company and will have an essential role in it.

Your main responsibilities as the new Senior Audit Project Leader CAP will include:

• You will operate as a team member or independently and you will have responsibility for specific procedures and results (i.e., head of a project relating to an audit, audit project, or model audit).
• You will ensure testing (or other tasks as applicable to a specialty) is adequately thorough and accurate to allow an evaluation of the adherence to company policies and procedures, audit methodologies, and all applicable regulations.
• You will identify existing and emerging risk/ control themes.
• You will contribute to Constructing Universe and development of the annual plan in the Client Asset Protection area. You may manage and develop staff, though this role is primarily a high-level individual contributor role, fully demonstrating subject matter expertise on the Client Asset Protection regulation.
• You will provide thought leadership to assigned audit practice area which is supported by advanced credentials, documented industry experience, and/or publications. You will prepare documents and reports that are "client ready." And you will maintain management relationships and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• You will create Audit plans and collaborates with leaders to develop appropriate Client Asset Protection (CAP) audit coverage.
• You will lead testing of CAP processes through stand-alone audit projects or by supporting business audit projects.
• You will identifies meaningful issues and track fieldwork and emerging issues to completion.
• You will provide knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of intellectual capital in a specialized technical area within audit groups or across the department.
• You will serve as an internal expert on the most complex CAP audit topics.
• You will regularly apply project management methodologies to effectively oversee projects/ staff across multiple audits; promote and educate assigned team members in technical concepts.
• You will build and cultivate relationships across the audit team, business leaders, clients, and regulators.
• You will explain technical/complex issues to non-technical audiences and you will apply logical, well-constructed arguments to persuade and influence others to adopt a new point of view.
• You will apply sophisticated analytical problem-solving skills and lead others in solving complex issues and identifying innovative solutions in area of specialism.
• You will identify opportunities for the use of automation and actively take part in advancing recommendations for software support requests.
• You will deliver robust metrics and reporting on audit activity and represent audit at relevant internal and external meetings.

Your profile:

• You have a Bachelor or Master’s in accounting or finance or related. MBA, CPA, CIA, CFA certifications are preferred.
• You have 6 to 15+ years relevant experience in audit, compliance, risk.
• You have excellent understanding of the Client Asset Protection regulatory requirements and key controls as well as rules and reporting requirements.
• You have good knowledge of the financial services industry.
• You have good understanding of the applied and interpretation of analytics results for audit, critical thinking, negotiating issues and resolving problems.
• You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch, French, or German is a plus.
